Everything! All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was large, quiet, with comfortable beds and a magnificent view over the golf course and Firth of Forth (be sure to book a room on this side). The restaurant provided simple food excellently cooked, and again the view was just stunningly beautiful. Although the kitchen closes at 8.30pm, they offered to stay open a bit longer for our late arrival (we found they'd stayed around till 10pm!!). If you don't play golf, do.
alle beoordelingen » Lovely large well-furnished room looking out over the golf-course, Firth of Forth and Fife hills. We also had this glorious view at breakfast and dinner times. The staff were exceptionally helpful about my food allergies and offered things that were not on the menu. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms very quiet and peaceful. superb accommodation -rooms are large,clean and modern. Staff are so friendly and couldn't be more helpful. There is a superb restaurant with excellent food at very reasonable prices. Also a great bar menu. You don't need to be a golfer to enjoy your time here as it is close to lots of lovely countryside and beaches. Quality spacious room with views over golf courses to the sea. Food quality very good. A great base for playing golf, only half an hour to Edinburgh, the staff are very good, and Carol who served the food each day was a credit to Craigielaw. Fantastic hotel with wonderful and friendly staff. Very easy to find and an ideal location. Lovely breakfast with nothing too much trouble for the staff. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again soon. The food in the restaurant was amazing. The staff very helpful. The rooms quiet and comfortable. The views from the lounge are spectacular. Just perfect. We arrived late in the dark and it wasn't clear from the signage whether we'd found the clubhouse or the Lodge (in fact, they're the same building). Also, we'd tried to phone ahead to warn them we'd be arriving late, but the website numbers were for the office during office hours and just rang and rang. There was nothing we didn't like. Nothing. Although Wifi access was available and free if you have a mobile phone without that on it there is no signal in the room. No comments necessary. There was not much choice on the menu to eat in the bar or restraunt, the seats in the room were uncomfortable to sit on to relax and take in the scenery. No air con in rooms, even Ibis Budget has it these days, a bit hot at night. Mirrors too far away from power point for hair care. nothing. I do like a firm bed but these beds require mattress toppers to help with the solid firmness to give the body (especially the back) some contouring! Even a few optionally available would be good. Nothing. Nothing. No bath but a good shower. meals were uninspiring. Staff were not professional enough for the prices paid. Asked one member of staff to delay evening main course for 10 minutes. meal delivered straight away. Breakfast was dry, needed beans as an option. Quality of sausages poor. (Adniston Manor is £40-50 cheaper and far better). Flex on hairdryer barely long enough to reach window. No women's section in the pro shop. no one at reception for check in.
