  We have stayed at Faik Pasha for two nights. This hotel is an excellent option in İstanbul. We chose this hotel due to the Taksim square protests. It is very close to İstiklal Street but it is located in very secure region of Taksim. The room was very well appointed, real boutique hotel style. In summary, everything is excellent. - Great location. Easy to move from there to visit the city and rich of bar pub cafe and nightlife. Nearby Karakoy a dinamic district with many lovely restaurant and the great istanbul modern, a museum you might see. The hotel is in an historic building but it is fully renovated and the result is a mix of historic perspective and contemporary taste. Everyone is very nice and gentle . Perfect for couple

  The history: Agatha Christie wrote her [Murder on the Orient Express] at this hotel. There is a small exhibition area on the fourth floor about this and other historic moments. The elevator from 1895 can still run (though not always in use). They sell postcards and other souvenirs about the hotel at the front desk. Really a piece of history! The Breakfast - A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!

  They offer a car service from the airport (for a fee). The Concierge/Reception are very friendly and try to accommodate any requests...ask for Ahmet, he's the best! They upgraded me to a suite without me even inquiring. They had cleaning staff come daily to tidy my apartment. (Note: Rooms Galata is located on a steep incline- which I loved for daily excerc - Me and my husband had an absolutely fantastic treat from the time we got to the hotel to the time we took off again. The atmosphere was super nice, quiet and comfortable and we felt at home from the very 1st second we entered the door where Emir welcomed us. We booked a rather large room so we enjoyed the spacy room.   This hotel is in excellent location, near Taksim Square. It is very well connected with other parts of the city. The staff is very friendly and they speak English well. Rooms are cleaned once in two days.
