  I thought the staff at reception were excellent - very friendly and helpful. The spa experience was wonderful. A private tour was very good. Buffet dinner provided variety and was delicious. - The staff were very nice indeed. We got there at 6am and they let us check in early. It was very clean and comfortable.

  Value for money. Good and cosy restaurant and lounge. Wifi free. No lift of course so asked staff to carry our suitcases up, was no problem. Recommend deluxe room. Stayed here 8 years ago as backpacker and now took my mum here and she was expecting less value for 15 dollars. Close to Ko San road but not in the middle of the hussle.   This place is suit for the location, close to airport. I used to stay in hostel in Silom and took a taxi to Donmuang airport and you know what I missed the flight-traffic was worst!!!. So I have to stay 1 night waiting for a next flight. And that was my 1st time stay here. This time is my 2nd time here and everything is still good. Some hotels they work like a robot-no sm - 24/24h reception, I arrived late at night and left at 4:30 pm in the morning. Staff was very kind: morning call and they booked taxi for the morning with no extra fee. Only 15min taxi to get to the airport (no traffic) Perfect place for a good night sleep between 2 flights.

I have enjoyed the atmosphere of a small boutique hotel (of course, most taxi driver don't know the hotel, but Surawong is a major road, therefore easy to find or just name Le Meridien), but in the middle of everything. Nice (however small) rooms, big safe deposit box, cabled/wireless (and free) Internet access, well maintained and nicely decorated. Our Guest Record was pre-filled, so we only had to sign it and hence we had a quick check-in.   Hotel California is a nice place to stay, the owner from Australia is very nice and helpfull, she is there in the mornings. The rooms are nice, the furniture is a bit strange and don't really fit well with each other, but they are changing the rooms, one every week, so that will be sorted. Shower is very nice and warm. The rooms had everything I look for to be comfortable, Safe, Kettle, Fridge and TV. The bathroom was a nice size. Free WiFi. I choose Single room but the Bed, is still a great size, larger than a single bed. The staff even provided assistance into helping me look for somewhere to live. In fact I did not want to leave here it was so lovely.
