  Room was large and nicely decorated. The large bed was very comfortable and the room had with lots of windows and a balcony. The hosts put in a lot of thought and effort into making Penelope's Guesthouse a wonderful place to stay at in Stellembosh. Breakfast was excellent. The hosts were charming. Free parking and wi-fi. The Guesthouse is loc - We loved our stay at Penelope's Guesthouse. Penelope is a great host, she recommend great vineyards for wine tasting and offered great assistance whenever needed. She offers a great full breakfast with fruit, croissant, yogurt, cheese, eggs, etc.. The breakfast is served on her garden terrace . It is very, very clean. The rooms are very large and well equipped. It was a pleasure to stay at her guesthouse and I will definitly return if ever I we have a chance to. I highly recommend this

  Staff at Reception was extremely helpful and friendly. As I was travelling alone, the fact that the room was so close to reception, was great. Over the last four years we have stayed at several B&Bs, Hotels/Guest Houses in South Africa and the De Hoek rates as one of our best and most enjoyable places. Check-in was incredibly efficient -- we were in our room within about 45 seconds. The location in downtown Stellenbosch is fantastic -- across the street from a beautiful church and just one block from dozens of cafes and restaurants. And, of course, it's convenient to tons of wineries. Breakfast was served promptly, was delicious, and included everything one could want. This is a great guest house.

We had been several times to the EEndracht locally but they were overpriced, and their breakfasts were not memorable, and we were slightly apprehensive as to what we might expect.   We booked very short notice. Still this was no problem. Amazing breakfast. Very nice and comfortable rooms. Very nice staff, Hardy knows all the nice winehouses to go to for winetastings. Furthermore they also know a lot about the country in general and have good tips on places to go and see. The hotel is in the one of the most beautiful spots you've ever seen - surrounded by mountains on every side. Even though it was freezing at night, the room was nice and cosy and warm. Comfortable bed, huge spa-bath, extremely well-priced accommodation - oh and for breakfast we had the best bacon I've ever had.
