  This apartment was perfect. Not too big, and not small, the loft above was wonderful and the view from the window was brilliant - both the city as well as table mountain. Nora, who checked us in, was particularly helpful.   Not an ultramodern hotel but rather a well maintained hotel with a more genteel feel. The rooms were nicely sized, comfortable bed and kept spotless by the staff. The rooms were well soundproofed so you had no extraneous noise from other rooms. The restaurant was pleasant and the food well above average. As others have noted, the breakfast really ... wat mensen zeggen » sets you up for the day. The hotel is quite well placed in a slightly quieter part of town next to the parliament buildings but only a 10 minute strol - Staff eager to help us as we arrived early were leaving late and had to leave luggage at hotel. We were upgraded to double rooms with views of Table Top. A cheap taxi ride or walk from all the major city sites. Excellent breakfast included. Rooms spacious with all facilities. Compared with our hotel in Rio on the same trip and for the same price Townhouse was streets ahead. Can't wait to go back to Cape Town and when I do there's only one place I'll be staying - The Townhouse.

  Fabulous place. The owners are accommodating, friendly, practical, the rooms spacious and airy and a wonderful balcony running around with a direct view of the mountain. Small things like free videos to watch, wonderful spacious common rooms, delightful outside breakfast, and that they thoughtfully put on the floor heating in case I was cold was ... wat mensen zeggen » so special. Quietly done and not in your face at all and not overly furbished. They organised a 4am reliable taxi service. - Very clean and hygienic in all areas of the guesthouse. Run by very friendly and warm hosts and staff. A great selection of DVD films to choose from, even a selection for more broadminded folks. Breakfast is great and well presented. Awesome view of table mountain and location to nearby attractions is a stone's throw. We stayed in room number 5 and the bed was huge! Premium quality linen and bedding make for an amazing night's rest.

From the time we checked until we left we were impressed with the courtesy of the staff, the cleanliness and comfort of our room, and the food in the restaurant. The overall hotel premises are well maintained, and we would definitely recommend it. When Hilton take over in April 2013, we hope that they will continue to keep up the high standards of the present management.
