  Reception was most helpful on arrival, giving information we wanted, without needing to ask. Being on the edge of the old town it did not take long to walk in to the square. It was close to both the bus, and train stations, which had a major modern shopping precinct adjacent to it. A lot of old world charm to the foyer and our room. Breakfast was very good, as well as the cold buffet you could have cooked food. Dinner in the restaurant was also very good and excellent value.   Very professional and helpful staff who responded quickly and positively to my email enquiries before we left England. On arrival we were offered a free upgrade from a de-luxe double room to a suite; we were amazed and delighted to accept! The breakfast buffet was comprehensive with fresh, tasty fare on offer every day. The impressive Royal Ar - I liked the location which was just below the Castle at the edge of teh old town. We had the Wavel tram stop just next to us whihc ran both into town , around it and into Kazimierz as well as furhter afield such as the Bohotara Ghetto. The large rooms were great, especially int eh heat. The mattresses and pillows were very comfortable and we had clean sheets daily. The building is lovely. Had we required it, there was also the very good value Pod Wavelem restaurant on site. The reception staff
