  Merida was our first destination, and this was our first trip to the peninsula. We were not prepared for how run-down and chaotic the city would be. Driving a rental car around, trying to find our hotel and then the parking lot was very confusing and a little bit scary at first. The hotel is very open and light, and our room looked right out onto the pool through one-way glass. The Dolores Alba is charming and - Near the historic center where you can enjoy a touch of history (able to walk there, but just one block too far to really be in the vivid part). Rooms are very spacious and clean. Breakfast is ok but quite simple, nothing special. Very friendly staff that speaks English very well. Parking lot is definitely a bonus (free and totally private and thus very safe to leave your car).

  We treated ourselves and stayed in their nicest room this time (this was our 3rd visit).   Well, nothing to write home about but it had all we needed. Spacious room with king size bed, clean, air conditioning, swimming pool (as Merida is not by the sea) and very close to the centre without being at the centre. Breakfast is ok but comes at an extra cost. Big plus the parking space - if you have a car you'll need that in Merida. - The lo... wat mensen zeggen » cation is ideal. Close to the center but far enough away to be quiet at night. Nice pool and staff were friendly and very helpful. Has free parking on site which is a plus too. We would stay here again.
