Authentic Ryokan accommodation and an ideal base from which to explore beautiful Kyoto. We found the location peaceful and accessible and it was easy and safe. Great to have access to a share kitchen and laundry, and the communal lounge was a welcome space to read and eat in. Lots of friendly advice for travellers and they let us store our luggage

Every member of the staff knows English and they are always available to help you. One of the few places without curfew. Very good location. Great Japanese breakfast. Good price on bike rental. Very quiet.

Me and my girlfriend stayed for 2 nights in Kyoto, we wanted to try traditional japanese style room. But when we arrived at Ikoi No Ie it occured to us that it was the best choice apart of that what I mentioned. A subway station a minute away, also very convenient to the main railway station, (15 min walk or 1 subway station away), in a true old fashioned Kyoto street. Not far to 7/11 & supermarket, we didn't eat out much as 'the right place' was a little more difficult to find (not Japanese speaking). Although the railway station would have sufficed if we had wanted more eating options.

The hotel is located right next to the Kyoto station - just a few minutes walk. It was convenient to get there as we arrived, but then, it wasn't as easy to get to attraction places. The hotel is not bad, just a bit basic. -

We were looking for a typical and traditional Japanese ryokan, and we found it. Great experience! Rooms are big and comfortable. Even though they don't speak good English, staff is helpful and friendly. It's located in a cool and quiet little street, but very close to an animated block and subway stations. Free wi-fi. Good value for money.

The receptionist was extremely helpful and caring without being intrusive.
All that we thought we needed - it was right there for us. The bathrooms and toilets were really clean and they were always accessible despite being common to all guests.

Все очень понравилось. Нормальный номер. Нет идиотских правил, типа в номере нельзя находиться с 10 до 16. На первом этаже куча литературы по Киото и Японии. Бесплатный кофе и чай (плюс две булочки утром). Есть стиральные машины. В моем номере был слабый wifi (который вроде как не обещали) + ethernet.
В часы пик и в выходные лучше добираться туда

Staff is friendly. Free Wifi in the room. There a colour printer there where you can print for free (where I happened to need it to print some documents for my conference). Breakfast is acceptable and is free. Quite near to the Gojo subway station, just a station away from JR Kyoto Rail station. Good value for money. -

The amount of space was perfect and we didn't feel cramped. The two main beds are up a ladder, which is strange and felt sort of like a clubhouse, but it was unique. When else in my life will I get to act like a kid again, right? The walk was only a few minutes from Kyoto station, which was convenient. I'm not a picky or needy traveler so it was perfect for me. Clean, efficient, comfortable, easily accessible, and we had internet access. What more do you need? All-in-all, it was a great experie
