The staff at Gion Maifukan could not have done enough to help us. They were attentive without being intrusive and after the first night moved us to a bigger room to accommodate the four of us.

Check in/out with storage service at Kyoto train station is a really convenient one. The rooms are surprisingly big and cozy with superb city view. Location is excellent to access the Nanjio temple and other famous spot. Dining and caual walking in this area are superb. -

The location was great. In front of Kyoto station. There is a shopping mall at the next block (AEON), where there are many stores, and also Daiso (100-yen shop). The Toji temple was near from this hotel, as well as Kyoto Aquarium. To get to most temples, travelers have to take bus lines, that are just across Kyoto station. Staff friendly. We get a good view of the river and Hiragashiyama through the big window. With three beds, the room still has a lot of space. And bathroom is large, too, which surprised us because we thought hotel rooms in Japan were very small. The staff here are very nice and warm. The location is great: it connects the subway station, and you can take a leisure walk at night by Yuka.

temples, see the Gion district, and dress up like a Geisha. She
helped me to plan everything with the buses, trains, taxis, etc. She

Good location, very easy to walk to main shopping area and metro stations. The public bath is very good so we choose not to take bath in the bathroom of our rooms. We stayed three days and they managed three different breakfast courses, all of them very nice. Friendly frontdesk staff who can speak acceptable English. -
