location was a little far from tourist areas, however it is conveniently
located near a subway station and the hotel shuttle helps you get to the
train station. The staff helps you in giving directions. -
Check in/out with storage service at Kyoto train station is a really convenient one. The rooms are surprisingly big and cozy with superb city view. Location is excellent to access the Nanjio temple and other famous spot. Dining and caual walking in this area are superb.

The location was great. In front of Kyoto station. There is a shopping mall at the next block (AEON), where there are many stores, and also Daiso (100-yen shop). The Toji temple was near from this hotel, as well as Kyoto Aquarium. To get to most temples, travelers have to take bus lines, that are just across Kyoto station. Staff friendly. 1) Breakfast - European buffet was to die for!! they cook ham in front of your eyes, excellent choice of fruit, muesli, sausages, fish.
2) Spacious room.
3) Staff speaks good English and very helpful, allowed us to leave our luggage for free for 3 days even when we left for Tokyo and then didn't come back to Hyatt again.
4) Locality is really convenient for both sightseeing (next to Kyoto Museum and various temples) and logistics point (5 min from train/shinkansen station)

The hotel shuttle bus is great for getting to the station, from where you can get transport around the whole city.

I can recommend this hotel.
The location is not so exciting, I though it was quite near to Gion but it's not. You have to take the subway to reach restaurants or night life areas.

If you are traveling as a family or if you are older, this is the best choice in Kyoto as far as I'm concerned. The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about Kyoto. There is
no elevator and we were on the 4th floor but the guy insisted on
carrying our very heavy bags up the stairs until my partner couldn't
stand it any longer and took one. The room was comfortable and clean and
when we forgot keys they were brought promptly. When they got a taxi

I loved the public bath. But also that it was only optional so that we
had a private bathroom as well. The staff could not do more for us. They
helps us navigate the bus system, we could buy bus passes and rent bikes
from them. And even though they had their own resultant, on the days our
money was low and we bought meals from the 7/11 down the road they
offered their microwave for us to use.
