  Maria Elisabetta and Rodolfo are a wonderful young couple who take great care of their guests. The location of the Residenza is perfect (next to San Marco but away from the crowd, and not far away from the Castello area where the Biennale takes place and where there are plenty of great authentic restaurants). We stayed in the Artist room which was neat, quiet and very clean, with a lovely view over the canal. The - In one word - Excellent. Location - perfect (near San Marco square, but on the small quiet street). Room - clean and cozy. Bathroom - big, light and clean, clean and clean (hairdryer, toiletries, towels are included). Breakfast - very good (choice of yoghurts, meat, cheese, bread, jam, juice, coffee, tea, etc.) Owner - intelligent, polite and friendly person with great sense of humor. All together this will make your stay in this hotel perfect.

  Cynchia I believe is the name of the woman who runs the b&b and is so lovely and helpful. Our flight landed late at night and we noticed that it was past the check in time listed at time of booking. I called her and she said no problem at all and said shed meet us at the water bus stop to walk us I the hotel. Thank goodness she did that becaus... wat mensen zeggen » e it is very easy to get lost at night if you are not familiar with the city. to get to the hotel from San zaccaria or realto bridge it's only like a - Lady managers very hospitable and accommodating. Rushed to get room ready as we arrived early and gave us coffee etc while we waited. Gave us map of city and pointed out highlights re eating and main attractions. Room made up daily with nice fresh towels and water provided in fridge. The area situated although difficult to find first time round was really quite good and central to most things and the building itself was historic and nicely decorated inside, the lovely smell in the mainroom and

  As many reviewers comment, the entrance is sparse at best. The entrance is no indication of the hotel once you get up the stairs. We aren't sure why some reviewers comment harshly on the stairs... It is Venice and there are stairs in just about every hotel! The rooms are fairly simple. The college age staffers in the morning and the evening were v... wat mensen zeggen » ery friendly. The location of this hotel is exceptional! It was a two minute walk to St. Mark's square (once we got oriented) which allowed us to visi - Location was perfect. Nice to be able to put all 5 of us in one room. Staff were very easy to work with and accomodated some special requests and made good recommendations for dinner, sight-seeing, etc.. - Great location-close to everything. Staff was very helpful and informative. Kept very clean and tidy. Breakfast was great on the patio. Do have to climb a lot of stairs (no elevator) but very nice place.

  We loved everything about Ca' Gottardi. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Fabio was a delight, and Luke must be the most friendly and positive Italian guy we have met on our trip :) The room we had was one with a view (ask for second building) and required walking up some stairs, but we did not mind! The snacks in lobby were always available,... wat mensen zeggen » and mostly gluten free :) Delicious coffee, cappuccino and more always available to enjoy with your biscotti...Wonderful breakfast with melon, prosci - Very nice accommodations: understated classy decor, very clean, very large bathroom, very secure & safe, wonderful selection for a lovely European breakfast, every staff member friendly and helpful, great location (away from the touristy centers but only 10-15 minutes to all of Venice by foot).   Luciano is a very kind and helpful host who booed a restaurant, researched vegetarian eating options and looked up timetables for us during our 3 night stay. The b and b is brilliantly located for the main sights. We were very happy with the pleasant rooms: as mother and daughter we arrived to a nice surprise being given a suite of two double bedr... wat mensen zeggen » ooms and a luxury en suite bathroom. A lovely short break thank you so much Luciano! - Mr. Ventura was so nice and helpful. He was very friendly and is learning English, so he enjoys visiting and hearing about your day. Our room was magnificent. We overlooked the canal and had the sounds of the evening and morning to enjoy. Large bathroom and breakfast was very nice and convenient. The hotel is very convenient located between St. Marks Square and Rialto Bridge. We would love to stay here again.

  Location was about 10 mins walk from St. Marks Square. Close yet far enough away from crowds. Rooms were lovely.Ours was small but had view of canal while our friends had a huge room to make up for lack of view, I reckon! Personally, I loved room with a view. Staff very helpful and breakfast very tasty. All in all, great value.
