Ortygia is a - This was....Paradise! An oasis of rest in the bustling life of Siracusa. Nice and friendly staff. Although only 3stars rated, it is worth a 5 star resort. The only one with a private beach, it was just great to start our trip there. For the boys they even could use a kayak which they enjoyed. Breakfast was amazing when comparing with Italy standards.

Parking is easy and reasonable-a huge plus if you're driving. The rooms aren't huge, but are quite comfortable; housekeeping standards are excellent.   I've recommended all the hotels in Sicily, but this is the best. The location is perfect...a short walk from everywhere you want to go, except the ancient Greek and Roman sites, but guess what...the charming young women at the hotel make that easy. Among many things, I was recommended to the most delightful restaurant right down the street. Whatev... wat mensen zeggen » er I wanted to know or do, they were two steps ahead of me. Everything was perfect. I can 't give a better review. AAA+++. - We loved the location in the old city, the breakfasts were fair,the woman serving the breakfasts was lovely. we never saw the reception staff after our arrival, which was a shame as our air conditioner was very noisy so we couldn't sleep with it on and it was very hot. Apart from that the room was great. we loved the terrace. The market was great as was the swimming in the local beach.

  The Hotel Livingston is on the edge of the island of Ortigia. When you eat in the fourth-floor hotel dining room, the windows on three sides look largely over the Mediterranean, but also over old rooftops. Even in a room on the inland side, my balcony had a thrilling view of the sea. The staff are kind, efficient, and polite. It's an elegant hotel... wat mensen zeggen » . It's easy to walk to anywhere in Ortigia from there. Or just to swim in the sea and sunbathe on the rocks. - We really loved the Hotel Livingston's neighborhood. Walking was a delight, there is a terrific gourmet Locanda nearby. Our room was large with two sets of French doors looking onto the street and to the sea and swimming rock! The bathroom was luxurious - loved the towel bathrobe and slippers. Breakfast was good with an extensive buffet.
