We stayed only for 2 nights but we had the chance to take part to a traditional Ischian evening - a very relaxing and happy atmosphere. Free shuttle bus to the beach.   Maison Tofani is the best kept secret in Sorrento. The staff were exceptional, especially Giovanni who collected our hire car on the morning we were leaving as the garage did not open until after we wanted to leave. Maria the owner cooks amazing cakes and pastries for breakfast which was the best breakfast we had in Italy. Giovanni - We stayed 6 nights in Maison Tofani which is a great little hotel in the historical centre of Sorrento, decorated in the best Italian style. We had a large room with a big bed, a sofa and armchairs, a bathroom with shower - and free wifi! The room overlooked the narrow shopping street. We had a small table and two chairs on the minute balcony where we could watch the world go by. The windows were well insulated as we weren't disturbed by noise. Although we booked a room without seaview, we were upgraded and got one of the best rooms in the hotel, due to low season, with a large roof-terrace (room nr. 404) overlooking the harbour and sea (like rooms 401-403).   We are a young couple and everything went really perfect for us. Geographic situation: Amalfi is ideally positionned to visit the other villages of the amalfitan coast which is really a paradise on earth. There are buses regularly leaving the village for other destinations (Positano, Ravello, Salerno, Maiori, Sorrento, ...). The hotel is ideally positioned in the village, 5 minutes from the center but in the heights of the villa - We loved our stay at the Villa Annalara. Christian was so gracious and accomodating. Always ready to serve us up another capuccino. He also had lots of recommendations for sights to see and things to do around the amalfi coast. Our villa was very clean and spacious and we even had a beautiful terrace to sit out at night and enjoy a limoncello before retiring to bed.
