This place exceeded every expectation I imagined. The owner, Fernando, was charming and a delight to talk to. He has lived in Matera for 22 years and has been in charge of the restorer action of the property. It is incredible. My wife was overcome with tears of joy when she saw the room.

Host and owner Fernando sets the benchmark of hospitality in Italy. Generous and helpful, he booked us tables at the most interesting restaurants nearby and filled us in on the fascinating history of this interesting town (over grappa). The rooms themselves embody this history and are each different, without sacrificing luxury. Simplicity as well as attention to details. Thoroughly recommend.

everything. beautiful room , a cave dwelling very sympathetically renovated using the very best of everything. position fantastic, breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sissi. lovely interesting owners, one of whom was born there and told us the history, and even a large bowl of delicious fruit in the room. recommend to anyone.

The setting is breathtaking and the staff is amazingly attentive. We had dinner there and it was one of our best meals in two weeks. - a beautiful hotel with some wonderful antique pieces in a fresh and spacious interior.the staff were very helpful and provided us with dinner although we arrived after serving time.lovely gardens.

We loved everything about this place. The apartment itself was spacious and clean; the balcony, looking out over the sassi and the Duomo, was fabulous and perfect for an afternoon aperitivo.
