We very much enjoyed the experience staying at this B&B. While old
and original on the outside (being part of the Sassi di Matera), the
inside is modern, extremely well arranged and comfortable. The service
was great and the overall value was good.

Very hospitable hosts, very good accommodation across the street from their restaurant, where excellent breakfasts were served. It was a good experience to stay in the centre of Matera.

Fra Sassi is situated in a perfect spot with a fantastic view of the Sassi area of Matera. From the B&B walking the main areas of the Sassi is easy and accessable. It is also only a short walk to the main piazza for people watching and shopping. Near by there are excellent restaurants. Domenico and Christina are perfect hosts, and their English is perfectly adequate to recommend restuarants, things to do and places to see. They both make their guests feel very welcome. Fantastic hosts Nick and Guisy looked after us so well! I cannot fault this place, just excellent! They went out of their way to make sure we saw the best of Matera, dropping and collecting us from the Sassi at anytime. Very clean room and bathroom which was nice and spacious. Nice view over hills from villa. Breakfast lovely! The best! -
