  The was my best hotel experience, ever! This place exceeded every expectation I imagined. The owner, Fernando, was charming and a delight to talk to. He has lived in Matera for 22 years and has been in charge of the restorer action of the property. It is incredible. My wife was overcome with tears of joy when she saw the room. The rooms are made out of c - Host and owner Fernando sets the benchmark of hospitality in Italy. Generous and helpful, he booked us tables at the most interesting restaurants nearby and filled us in on the fascinating history of this interesting town (over grappa). The rooms themselves embody this history and are each different, without sacrificing luxury. Simplicity as well as attention to details. Thoroughly recommend.

  Magic. One of those experiences that should be on a "at least once in your lifetime" list. The atmosphere and the comfort that has been created while maintaining the rough patina of caves is amazing - to the last detail. We regretted that we had only booked one night. The staff helped us to make the most out of the short stay. Within one hour we h... wat mensen zeggen » ad a dinner reservation in a great restaurant, a private guided tour the next morning, followed by a massage in the room, before checking out. The loc - Staying at Sextantio Le Grotte Della Civita was an amazing experience. The location, in Matera amongst the 'sassi', was spell binding and the luxurious accommodation blended with the location very well. I would describe the accommodation as rustic embellished with luxurious touches - from the designer bath to the amazing breakfast! It says a lot that when we arrived and saw the place we immediately wanted to extend our stay! A big thank you to the helpful, interested staff.
