  The hotel is hidden behind the walls of an old castle perched high up on a mountain hill in a village 30 minutes from Tignes and Val DIsere. The owner is very welcoming and will go out of the way to make you feel at home at this meticulously designed property.   The building is a wonderful grand old hotel, the room, on the third floor is sympathetically decorated, very comfortable and has a beautiful outlook across the town and Lake Bourget. We had breakfast on the verandah each day. Mme Cornet is a perfect host, and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was fresh berries, local cheese, gorgeous conserves,... wat mensen zeggen » bread, and croissants. The old part of Aix is 5-10 minutes walk away, with a good selection of restaurants and bars. When we're on holiday we don't - The location was a short stroll from town and a beautiful view from our balcony across the town and lake was superb. Isabelle was the perfect host, the breakfast fabulous and the room very comfortable, even in the heat! Will definitely return again soon!
