  We loved the beautiful courtyard of this traditional home, the room was beautifully set up with a HUGE traditional bed, nice detailing in dark timber. We also found the staff to be very freindly and helpful. They let us check in early when we arrived from an overnight train and then on the day they left we were allowed to use the room until 9 at n... wat mensen zeggen » ight for no extra charge, as it had not been booked by anyone else (it is low season at the moment). They also kindly gave us a lift to the train stat - Since it was a low season, we were upgraded to a much bigger room without any additional charge. We were shown the smaller room that we ordered and we think it is also comfortable. The staffs were friendly but there is only one person who can speak English but it will not be a problem since he is there most of the time. The street around this hotel is a bit dark at night since it was a low season so not many tourists went there. At the night we arrived and we were looking for something to eat,

  When we arrived in Pingyao, we were met at the train station by a tuck tuck driver, who ferried us to the hotel in authentic Chinese fashion. Sunny was there to greet us at the hotel entrance when we arrived. She and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful and polite, and spoke English quite well. The hotel is on a side street, not 5 minutes fr - It was quite breathtaking-our room was 300 years old! Australia is not that old! The necessary amenities were so inconspicuously added, the overall charm and antiquity of the room was not altered at all. It was so warm and the heaters dried the clothes. I could go one forever, just go there, you will not regret your stay. And a traditional klang to sleep on! and pillows stuffed with wheat husks, a unique experience and comfy too.

  Very helpful and friendly owner of this hotel. No problem to arrange the way to Taiyuan airport. The stay was very pleasant with the possibility to stay outside the room in the inner yard. Room was small but everything want you need is there. Better to stay more than one night to experience the authentic atmosphere of this hotel and the historical... wat mensen zeggen » center. - Excellent, friendly staff! Went out of their way to provide us with a place to hang out while we waited for our midnight train. Also had a computer with internet access which helped us immensely in working out train ticket booking issue. Provided free pickup and drop off from and to train station. Traditional courtyard home setting.

  There are a lot of good details to look historikal and you feel like 300 years back in the past. On the other hand the bathroom was new and clean. I would stay again in this lovely small hotel with all this nice courtyards. - perfect location good food
