The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Concierge, Nicholas knows everything. He provided excellent recommendations for dining, made the reservations and provided directions. There are great dining options close to the hotel. The complimentary tea and coffee and cookies in the lounge 24 hours was a god -send after a day out in the Shanghai heat. This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. WAY better than I was expecting. We had the family room with two bedrooms and one bathroom all to ourselves. The beds were comfortable and had cool headboards. There was a pretty garden, a good cafe with coffee and food and a stiff gin and tonic, and a few nice people hanging around but not too crowded.

I am a huge fan of the Chinese styled architecture in Mingtown Etour. Love love love those cats in the hostel, love the ornate room and love the bar/cafe by the little fish pond. It's been a great experience living in Mingtown.
The location is great (right in the middle of Shanghai), you can walk to so many places from there or take the tube so easily - the tube station is just under 10-min walk away!

Excellent on all counts. Staff, rooms, gym, comfort, location...everything is perfect. The ladies at the front desk are really nice. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my room was larger than advertised. The view of the city was wonderful. I felt safe and protected in the building, never seen so many cameras in any building before. The internet was really fast and reliable the entire time I was there.
I will definitely come back there again when I am in Shanghai. 10/10
