  The staff was very helpful and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. As dated as the decor was it was nice to have a spa bath and a sauna in the room.   Ok, this is not a five-star hotel, but they don't charge a five-star price either. My opinion is, you get exactly what you pay for. It's in Lapa, this means it probably used to be in a slum. We're a reasonably young couple, and for us it was just perfect. Stuff are very helpful, they do speak English (I was prepared to resort to - Good location in Lapa, not far away from the Arcos da Lapa or Cinelandia station. A rather tidy room.   This hotel has a very good location (quiet, safe, close to Flamengo Park and Beach). Very kind and helpfull staff (we asked in spanisch, they answered in portuguese or english - was a nice mixture), but we got all information we needed.   I really enjoyed the hotel, the staff was very helpful. My family does not speak portuguese (I do it), so the staff spoke in spanish with them. We came early the day of the check-in, however since the bedroom was without people, they let us do the check in before the hour. Some people say that the room was small but we stayed at the 3 peop - The rooms are newly renovated and very clean. The room we had was just the right size for 2 people and bathroom is in excellent condition. Despite speaking limited English, staff are helpful. Around the corner is a burger place and across the road is a juice place and also, a really nice sandwich bar and restaurant. About 10 minutes walk to Copacabana beach.
