1. The complimentary bus pick up and drop off. Even though the location was great and convenient already (2 blocks from the bus stop and the wharf), it saved us having to lug our luggage up the hill.
2. The staff were very helpful; helping us with directions, and booking the ferry for Isla del Sol
3. The room was very clean and comfortable with a very nice view of the town and a partial view of the ocean
4. Complimentary water, bananas, popcorn, lollies in the lobby
5. Fantastic breakfast of pa. alle beoordelingen »
We are retired world travelers on a budget. Hotel Utama was a delightful medium sized hotel, with clean, comfortable rooms, hot water, and a very good breakfast included. It was tastefully decorated with murals all around. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room had great views of lake Titicaca and the town of Copacabana. It sits on a hill so it's a little hike to get to it but, it's closer to the lake than about 50% of the hotels there, about a 5-7 minute walk. We enjoyed our 4 day stay t.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was amazing: hot pancake, eggs, ham, cheese, tomato, yoghurt, cereal, bread, tin fruit salad, coffee/tea and jam. Available all day for free was drinking water, tea, selection of fruits and lollies. Also there was a gas heater in the room from 5pm-10pm. Very luxurious for Bolivia. We were very happy. Our room had ocean views and a beautiful view of the whole city. Bed and pillows were really comfortable.
The hotel was good value. The hotel is in a quiet street close to the town centre. There were many nice touches including free sweets, water and fruit. I think the hotel is family run and everyone was helpful. There was a good atmosphere from the moment we arrived. It is quaint with murals on the walls in the bedrooms and on the corriders. The breakfast was excellent with lots of variety and freshly cooked.
The staff was welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful, check-in to check-out. the rooms were spacious and comfortable, there was adequate hot water and the breakfast was terrific. Lake Titicaca is just a short stroll away --5min perhaps. Its location on a hill made the stroll from the central square/bus stop a bit of a hike (uphill) to get to --consider this a daily dose of exercise. :).
The staff were all so helpful, kind, and professional. The free
breakfast was a pleasant surprise, much better than we were expecting
compared to some other places we stayed. They keep water and tea
available throughout the day, as well as some candy. It is a little bit
away from the actual shore, so less noisy, and still a beautiful view of
Lake Titicaca as well as the surrounding hills.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and the owners spoke English.
The breakfast was the best we've had in Bolivia (in 7 weeks) and
perhaps the best in South America (5 months). It was a nice touch having
a free bottle of water in the rooms and bananas, sweets and coco tea
were also free in the communal area. The showers were hot and good and
the beds were comfy.
The staff at this hotel was extremely friendly. When we arrived at the bus station, their minibus was already waiting for us to pick us up. We didn't arranged that upfront.
The room was clean and spacious.
The laundry service was cheap and clean.
The hotel has a big lounge or patio where you can relax and drink free coca tea or water and eat sweets, popcorn and fruit.
Coca tea, fruit, water, and small snacks were available all day. We booked a superior double room which had hot water all day. The staff were very friendly. They picked us up and dropped us off at the bus station when it was time to go. Breakfast was pretty good and generous as it included eggs, bread, pancake, cereal, fruit, coffee, and tea.
A lovely looking place with appealing murals on the bedroom wall and a marvellous breakfast included. Staff speak great English and there is water, tea, fruit and sweets in the lobby at all times (until greedy backpackers eat it all rather than go to buy a meal). Not the fault of the hostel - just poor upbringing.
Every thing about the Utama was great, even the hill you had to climb to get there, (they even put a free mini bus on to take you on a 2 min journey). The staff were excellent and really friendly, nothing to much trouble. Rooms where clean and comfy, the lay out was tops and for the breaky A1. Great stay.
Great hotel with great staff in a good location. Had a free pick up off the bus which was a lovely surprise as we hadn't requested it! Free tea, fruit, sweets and popcorn are a nice gesture. Hot water showers had good pressure. Just a 5 min walk from town centre means its peaceful without noice.
Pick up from the bus was excellent and we never even requested it. The staff were brilliant and it was very good value for money. They stored our luggage and dropped us back to the bus also - it's not far but it's up a fairly steep hill.
Nice hot showers and good breakfast too.
This family run hotel is great. Our room was spacious and light with good facilities. Large and delicoius breakfast served each day. Free tranport provided by mini-van to the boat to Isla del Sol, and the bus terminal. The owners are very helpful and friendly.
Great place which offers a very nice breakfast by Bolivian standards, a
clean room with private bathrooms, and also a lake view if you are lucky
to be on one of the top floors. There are free bananas along with coca
tea in the hotel lobby.
Beautiful central courtyard with free popcorn, bananas and mate de coca. Very friendly and helpful staff who can organise travel and trips. Fantastic breakfast. We were able to leave out luggage while we visited Isla del Sol.
Our room which had a lake view was great. The breakfast was better than
usual in Bolivia with pancakes, eggs, fruit, yogurt and strong coffee.
The family staff was friendly and very helpful. Loved the huge
courtyard.
Nice big room with armchair, comfy bed, free shuttle fom bus terminal
(only 400m away but still nice), good breakfast, free mate de coca and
fruits available in the hall, helpfull staff.
Utama is a well organised hotel conveniently located for access to Lake
Titicaca. The room was fine and the breakfast was very good. Free fruit
and tea during the day was a nice touch.
The staff was so friendly, smiley and welcoming. And the breakfast, the best in Bolivia. They also picked us up free of charge when we arrived although we didn't even ask for it.
Good price and location, close to Calvario (in spite of it is located a
few meters from Titicaca level), nice breakfast, free water, bananas,
coca tea and other snacks.
Excellent breakfast, comfortable beds, hot water, big rooms, very close to bars and restaurants, quite peaceful. Utama is a very good hotel with a very good price.
Lovely staff and close to town just two blocks from restaurants bars and lake side. Awesome breakfast and comfortable clean rooms. Nice communal area.
This was the best and biggest breakfast in all I my travels! Such nice and helpful staff. Snacks and tea available throughout the day. Great place!.
The staff was wonderful and friendly. Good breakfast in the morning,
they leave out fruit and coca tea which for Bolivia is important.
Wonderful staff. Understanding when we had to leave earlier than planned. Excellent snacks and breakfast. Would rate 11 if we could.
Unexpected hotel pickup from the bus was great. Breakfast was excellent. Able to book good value tours and bus tickets in the hotel.
Breakfast had lots of variety and included fruit, yogurt, cereal, eggs
etc. Room with a view over lake Titicaca was very spacious.

The shuttle from the bus stop was nice considering I did not ask for it and never told the hotel when I would be arriving.
quite location, nice big rooms, view, nice breakfast, pick up from bus station at arriving free.

Extremly friendly personal and very helpful at any time. Perfect situated 5min from the center. Nice and clean. Thx!.
Breakfast was wery good ( pancakes, eggs, cofee, tee, juice, cheese, ham, butter ... ). Room was small and homely.
The staff was accomodating, provided transportation free of charge and
the breakfast was very good.
The staff was friendly and helfpful. Room was clean and quite big. You get a heater, if you ask.

The owners and staff are super friendly and helpful.
Friendly stuff, clean bedroom, Good breakfasts.
Breakfast was really good, best we had in Peru.
1. The WIFI was turned off at 10pm so we were left to our own devices after 10.
the wi-fi was weak in the rooms and there is limited English-speaking staff.
Shower wasn't very hot at night but it was very hot in the mornings.
Wifi didn't work well or consistently in the rooms and was relatively slow in the public areas.
It got cold, really cold that night (winter there)- and while they had
some portable heaters available in the hall, the one available we tried
did not work. However, they give ample bedding to be warm while you lay
in bed. The staff actually asked about the cold when we checked out, and
told us working heaters would be arriving the next week.
The wifi was a bit too slow for streaming/youtube but was fine for
emailing and researching etc.
Wi-fi was pretty bad, plus they would switch it off at 10pm each night.
A bit of a walk up the hill. Not problem, but if you are still adjusting to altitude - take it slowly. Can be noisy, depending on fellow inhabitants, but earplugs solved the problem for us.
Wifi wasn't great, was in and out and often extremely slow. A small issue in such a great hotel for the price.
Other guests who smoked in common areas - this was quite offensive.
I wish the staff spoke better English but between their English and my
Spanish communication went well enough.
Not the most powerful shower, but there was always hot water.
It was a bit cold (a portable gas heater can be provided on demand). The
electric shower was on the slow side, not too bad for Bolivia but it was
a bit disapointing compared to the standard of the hotel.
The wifi wasn't working at night.
Staff not so friendly.
Nothing.
Woken up quite early as noise echos a bit otherwise great.
A bit uphill if not yet adjusted to the altitude - but an inexpensive taxi ride solved that.
Nothing.
Wifi is switched off during night time. Shower water was luke warm.
The bathroom floor tended to become very wet after a shower.
Shower was only like warm and heater only available from 6-10pm each
night, would be nice to have it in the morning when getting ready as
room was cold!.
The world's squeakiest floors.
Hotel is little bit out of center Copacabana, on the hill.
The lack of heat in the room. Heater is on from 6:00pm-10:00pm, by
request only with very little heat, barely took the chill away. The
internet is turned off at night and turned on sometime in the morning.
Wifi was bad and they turn it off every day at 10 pm. Very cold.
They turn off wifi every night (10pm - 7.30 am) which was the time we were back in the hotel.
no credit card accepted.
Shower was cold and our room was meant to have lake views and didn't.
the wifi is a copacabana-standard. have your expectations set right.
Cold water tap only in our basin. Slow internet.
The wifi is weak, which is one thing. But they straight turned it off at 10pm. Kind of lame.
Poor wi-fi signal during the day. ( wi-fi is switch off from 22.00 pm till 06.15 am.
