The elevators at this hotel are a total joke: get ready to wait for ages in the rush hours.

Great location in lower Manhattan- 30second walk to subway station. 20min on subway to Timesquare. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Daily maid service great. Comfortable bed and pillows. Really helpful and cheery door staff. Cabs booked easily with door staff. Laundry service - really quick
There was a fly flying round in the breakfast room in November which i found a bit off putting but restaurant did seem clean!
It was in walking distance to ALOT!! Shopping Restaurants 911 Memorial was right around the corner practically.

The room booked was not the room provided until the second night... We were two couples in two respective rooms... My guests were provided only queen size bed.... One of them slept on the floor as they expected two double beds

TV didn't work for 2 days and a leak in bathroom through the shower door.
The staff was very friendly, especially the bell hops and front desk clerk. We had a tv issue and they were in our room in 2 minutes after the call to fix it. Despite what you read on some reviews, the elevator wasn't that slow. Plus, it is New York, learn to wait sometimes. We had a good view of lower Manhattan and the river. The room was very clean and can best be described as efficient in design. Perfect walking distance from wtc and the subway. A nice (but very noisy) bar literally next door.
The bed was very small, despite being labeled a King, but maybe this is New York's version of one. Finding a parking garage was a mess and the directions given to us by hotel staff was general at best. The advertised price of $35/day was not even close to the actual amount of $50/day.
This hotel is very clean and friendly. It's just a short walk to great fun places to eat and all of the water front activities including pier 17 and water taxis to any place you want to go. Can't wait til next time.

The room was perfectly nice, and the staff was pleasant. After apprising the front desk of the things mentioned in "What didn't you like?", they were very apologetic and took steps to make amends. So, yes, those things were problems, but the front desk staff addressed them.
The TV service was out for nearly my entire visit. The engineering staff repeatedly suggested I power cycle the Cisco tuner/router. Didn't help. Also, waited 15 minutes in the restaurant -- which wasn't busy at the time -- for anyone to even acknowledge my existence. Ended up getting up and eating elsewhere.
Great location and close to subway and Battery Park. During our stay the hot water pipe broke and our room had to be changed, they took care of issue right away and changed our room ASAP the staff was great.

The restaurant on premises was mediocre to poor. I'd give the bartender high marks for service, but the service and food at breakfast were quite poor.
The rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower was fantastic. The servcie was excellent. The location was directly beside a subway stop.

everything..... the staff was Excellent. they heard its our honeymoon and gave us the 30th floor and some champagne. the rooms are in a very high standart. the soft bed, the coffee machine in the room, the shower. perfect experience
nothing. maybe the only thing is that the hotel is downtown. but there is a subway station one minute walk from the hotel. tthe price on the wifi is expensive
The hotel staff was incredible - all very polite, helpful, and easy to work with! They really went the extra mile to make our stay perfect. The hotel room itself was well furnished and clean, and larger than other NYC rooms that I've been in.
There are not nearly enough elevators for the hotel, and the existing elevators are very slow, resulting in long waits (particularly at peak times).

This hotel, though on the southern tip of Manhattan, was conveniently located near several subway stations providing access to many different lines. Transportation to/from the airport was easy and there were cabs and livery cars available when we were ready to leave. Staff were welcoming and quite helpful. Rooms were small (but typical of NYC), and had everything we needed for our stay. We'd definitely consider staying here again, especially for the price. It was a steal in comparison to other hotels I researched.
The elevators, if using them at peak times, required patience as there were just three serving the entire hotel. We stayed on a lower floor which made using the stairs an option for us. Overall not a deal breaker. If you are a light sleeper, you may consider bringing ear plugs.
The customer service was fantastic. Me and my mother felt like princesses. The room was beautiful, clean, great view, comfortable and very cozy. When something was not right the staff was ready and willing to make things right. Over and beyond to make us feel comfortable.

Elevators are a bit slow. Little tip, take the stairs from reception to street level, safes you waiting for the elevator, and its only two flights down there.
Even though the hotel was having problems with the elevators and flood, the staff was great, the hotel was confortable and modern and we had no compliants. Access to the subway was very close.
When I came back, I was charged a 100.00 fee and it still hasn't been returned. My room is pre-paid and there shouldn't be any charge. One person said that the charge would get reversed by friday and now it's monday.
It was pretty convenient to local attractions and the train. Shooping and places to eat in the area were abundant.
The wifi and phones were not working for majority of my stay. Room service got my order incorrect. The front desk also had an issue with my room that was pre paid. I got an alarming call duringmy stay saying I owed the full balence of the room plus tax when in actuality I only owed 15 dollars. And I had to od much of the leg work to figure this out and explain it to the employee which I thought was unacceptable.

Excellent location with good links to local transport. Walking distance to pretty much everything in the financial district. Rooms good in size for NY, bathrooms spacious.
We had a water main break and there were no concessions made to guests. Phones were disconnected, elevator was out of operation, and I had to walk down 10 flights of stairs. There were no apologies made upon check-out, and no mention of the outage whatsoever. An email would have been nice or perhaps assistance following checkout since I still had another flight to go down with very heavy luggage.

1. The room was a bit small. 2. The floor of the shower stall was very slippery!!!! This is very dangerous! We had to put towels on top of it to avoid falling. Please fix it before you get any lawsuits. Not from me, but heads up for the future.

great location, very close to the ferries to the Statue of Liberty, in the Financial District, just 8 minutes walk to Trinity Church and ground zero
mainly, the air conditioners were extremely noisy, few elevators for a many storeys hotel...the waiting time was very annoying, the stairs seemed to be designed only for emergencies, as they were very narrow...
We had a tumultuous stay at the double tree. Upon arrival we discovered the hotel was overbooked and we had to relocate to the double tree in Times Square for a night. After we returned to the financial district location our bags were placed in the wrong room causing us to be late to a pre scheduled event. This being said we experienced great professionalism and an overall very helpful bellman named Doug that helped make all of these hiccups a bit better.
Lack of organization. Never received an email saying double tree was overbooked and we should head to the Times Square location. This caused us to taxi to the financial district, wait at this location for 30 minutes while paperwork was filed an organized. The staff knew of this issue prior to our arrival and our night could have been saved if we were let to know prior to arriving at 2am.

AC and heating system in the room work extremely loud and wakes you up whenever it starts working. The receiption said this is the case for all rooms. This ruined all comfort of the Hotel. There were only two elevators serving to 45-storey building. 10 min. wating to get down stairs was not unusual. Coffee machine in the room was not working
On the second day of my stay there was no water and the elevators would not run. Disasters happen, but this was over the top.
The elevators didn't work. We didn't get two double beds, as booked. There were huge lines for the elevator. The hotel experienced a water break when we arrived, disrupted the weekend.

Unfortunately there was a problem with water and wifi internet at room. I have purchased the internet, but it did't work. I couldn't cope with room telephone as well.

But, not having hot water and elevators broken I feel I overspent. I had to walk down 33 flights of stairs, wait a long time for elevators and I was not able to shower and clean when I wanted too.
Friendly staff
There are only 2 elevators for this 44 story building. Plan ahead; you might be waiting twenty minutes or more for one to squeeze into. The friendly staff had no idea how to remedy the situation except to say, "Sorry!"
