Very very comfortable, the room was fantastic, the towels in the bathroom were gorgeous, so fluffy, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was superb and we recommend their home made burger! I am not really a burger eater, as I am fussy but wow, it was fantastic, if you stay at the Bakery, please try! We will be staying again, we travelled to visit Hever Castle and Hampton Court and we will stay at the Bakery when we visit London next time, to visit the Tower etc, as it's an.

The room was fautless-lovely decor,relaxing and very spacious witha huge cozy bed to die for!-also great shower(much bettter than many dribbling offerings you see)-my other half also appreciated the emergency shower cap and powerful hairdryer!Everything about The Bakery says quality-the whole appearence is fresh and yet warm and not corporate or minimalist not an easy balance to get right-the food has a slightly retro-feel(b. This is one of our favorite stays during our three months tour of Europe. We got the corner room and had a panoramic view of the streets below. This area is not that far from London, but feels like we were in the country side. The room was extremely spacious for the price (especially after staying at a more expensive place that was half the size in London). Everything was new and clean, and the shower felt like a spa. Parking is in the back of the building, and it's a short drive to Darwin's ho. We liked the location overlooking the village green & it was great to see the locals out on Saturday morning litter picking! It was small & friendly, very modern but lovely & welcoming. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room very spacious & nicely decorated. We would definately return if we came to this part of the country again. A perfect "marriage" of an historic building with modern first class equipped rooms. The restaurant offers an exquisite menu and the food is of an extremely high standard. Restaurant was quite loud but that may just have been the guests/patrons on the night. Noise from the road outside but there isn't much traffic so it's not too obtrusive. Couldn't fault it. No negative issues at all. There was a noisy fan system in bedroom we (should have pointed it out but slept through it). There was nothing we could have faulted. It's not really a complaint, but since there is nowhere else to eat in the evening, it's a shame the restaurant is closed after Sunday lunchtime and on Mondays. But we knew about this before we stayed. Note the pub across the road stops serving at 6pm on Sundays!. Would have liked to have eaten in the restaurant but it was closed when we were there. Nothing at all. Nothing!. we thought there stairway was a little shabby and our room was small. Couldn't fault it. Loved everything - will be returning soon! (The Marshalls). The stair carpet and bedroom carpet near the dressing table was stained and dirty. The car park is quite dark as is the village, so if you are a solo traveller, you should be confident on dark nights. n/a. Lack of drawer storage in bedroom, and no room phone. The only down side was the state of the residents entrance and corridor. It doesn't pretend to be what it's not, but visitors should be aware that there are no formal reception facilities and access to the bedrooms is up a fairly steep stairway. Shower a little smaller than expected. I didnt realise the restaurant or bar wasn't open on a monday which was one of the main reasons I booked the Bakery . Village pub opposite doesn't have great food. Nothing much, really. Unfortunately we stayed on a Sunday and therefore the restaurant/bar was not open so were unable to eat or drink there. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing!. Local pub---just across the road. Ghastly. Nothing to dislike.
