Trowel and Hammer Inn - Photos
Ce que les gens disent
Had a lovely stay at the trowel and hammer in Norwich. Car park was full when we arrived but they came out straight away and moved a car so we could get parked. Bedrooms were as seen in pics and as I'm a housekeeper myself I noticed how lovely and spotlessly clean the rooms were. I booked 3 rooms as was travelling with family they were all immaculate and beautifully decorated. The full English breakfast was delicious. Staff were very welcoming and really helpful. Would defiantly recommend this . tous commentaires »
the location was great for a walk to the city for shopping and for an evening meal.We were also within walking distance from the football ground which was a reason for going to the City this time. The room was very clean and the staff made every effort to be welcoming, the carpark is locked overnight so the car was secure.great breakfast and immaculate toilet facilities in the Inn .would recommend and return.
This was our second visit. The location is very good for shopping in the city centre and is easy to find, being on one of the main roads into Norwich. The accommodation block above and behind the pub has been recently refurbished and so the rooms still have that new feel to them. The pub now does meals and so a basic breakfast is available if you wish. The proprietor is friendly, helpful and attentive.
Don't be fooled into thinking this is "just a pub" - the room we received was easily the best I've ever had for the money we paid. Very nicely decorated with loads of little touches. The staff are great too - very friendly and happy to help - and both the dinner and breakfast we had in the bar were very enjoyable and great value.
Frank and his staff were first class.
Bathroom space (room 4) was colossal: everywhere was scrupulously clean.
The bed was comfortable.
With the weather so humid it was a delight to sit outside although space was limited, designed for smokers - and I do not! Never mind: he cool air was most welcome.
Very friendly atmosphere and the rooms are decorated to a very high standard. Frank always made sure that parking was reserved for residents. Good live music in the pub on Saturday but not loud enough to disturb you in the rooms.
The room was lovely the staff were friendly and only a 10 min walk to the centre of town. The band was good on the Sat Night 60s and 70s and 80s music also the meal we had on Fri Night was nice.
Good size comfortable room.
Great location.
Enjoyable live entertainment and good selection of beer at good prices.
Breakfast was fine if you only like a full English. Suited us as we do.
Absolutely perfect, very friendly staff, clean, spacious, comfortable room, nicely decorated, perfect location, just in the center of town and 2 minutes away from the bus station.
Really friendly and popular venue close to the city centre. Staff were very helpful at all times. Breakfast was excellent but limited choices. Would definitely stay there again.
Made to feel very welcome from the outset.
Room was homely, clean and comfortable to a high standard.
Breakfast was value for money.
Definitely would stay again and recommend.
Excellent location, just few minutes from bus station, the theatre and the centre. Brand new building with newly refurbished rooms. Spacious and clean. Generous breakfast.
Large spotless bedroom and bathroom and very comfortable. The owner and staff were very helpful and polite. Excellent breakfast. we will be staying here again.
Immaculately clean and very comfortable room.
Free parking.
Within walking distance of town.
Good security as car park locked at night.
Staff friendly.
The rooms had exposed beams which were lovely. The shower was lovely and
hot The rooms had really nice furniture, it was like a boutique hotel.
Friendly staff allowed is into the room before check in time. Clean and attractive room with plenty of space. Close to town.
The breakfast and evening menu were very good. Would have no hesitation in returning and cannot praise it highly enough.
Great room, nicely appointed, very comfortable and clean. Good breakfast and 5 mins walk from centre of city.

Very clean and fresh , The included breakfast was the best we had on our trip away .
The rooms were beautifully decorated and large. The bed was extremely comfortable.
Great staff, big (new) rooms.
Everything was high quality, including the breakfast.

Everything.
the room.
Friendly welcome and a tasty breakfast. A warm, comfortable room.
quality of furnishings.
Its in a good place close to city centre.
we had booked for two nights but my partner was ill so we could not come on the first day ,there was no availability for the Saturday night so we sadly lost our £80,00,this was in the cancellation policy but was still unfortunate.
The pub's car park is open to the public during the day and the proprieter packs them in like sardines to maxmise revenue. Too tight for my liking, but on the positive side it is on-site and it's free to customers.
Well, it was a late booking so my room immediately overlooked the A11: a hot and humid time meant the windows HAD ro be open: not used to that amount of traffic noise!
A shelf over the basin would have been helpful for toothbrush etc plus a few other small things.
Could have been more welcoming.
absolutely nothing.
Was fine for us but a little noisy due to the functions and live music if you were light sleepers.
Not a problem to us but some may not appreciate the music in the bar on Saturday nights. However it did not go on late and we would recommend enjoying a good beer and the band until bedtime.
Saturday night was very noisy but to be fair we'd read this in previous reviews .
Would be lovely if breakfast was available even if only tea and toast or cereal.
There was a band on so all we could hear until 1am (ish) was the base
and also it was so loud we could tell which song it was. That said, that
is expected when you book a pub/hotel. When I arrived and checked
out there was little or no customer service. I tried to check out and
when I entered the pub the lady cleaning took my keys and said nothing -
I even had to call through so she knew I was waiting!.
Eating in the bar area for breakfast.
There could have been a little more choice at breakfast, e.g. cereal, scrambled egg etc. but the owner was very obliging when I requested a bacon sandwich instead of the offered full English.
Would have preferred a dining area away from bar
Would have liked a choice of continental or English breakfast.
The cold water tap didn't work in our room so we were unable to use the tea and coffee making facilities. We did report this.
Nothing.
It was very hot when we stayed so we needed the windows open all night and the traffic noise was quite intrusive, but I do not blame the inn for this.
Room was small and not enough space to relax in. Not enough natural light. Considering the room size and bathroom facilities this was not value for money.
Unable to get breakfast.
Room on busy road.
Breakfast was very basic and no real choice.
No proper window in room, just a skylight but am not complaining as was so good otherwise and was good price.
Just a bit warm in room as couldn't open window but there was a fan to use so all good.
No shelves in the bathroom. Had to keep shower toiletries on the floor.
Nothing.
No electric shaver outlet in the bathroom, no soapdish in the shower.
not staying longer.
nothing.
Nothing.
no bin in the and no breakfeast.
no telephone in room.no choice of breakfast.
The music that went on until midnight, and only a ceiling window.
no breakfast. Bar area was of a much lower standard than the rooms.
No internet was available and it was advertised with free internet.Very
noisy , rooms are right next to main road with lots of traffic.
