I stayed for 2 nights and was very happy with the hotel-I was surprised with an upgrade,the room was extrememly quiet,with a large balcony and park view.
Although I did not see the breakfast buffet,my colleagues and I,in town for a professional continuing education, thought that 34 CHF was a very high price for breakfast!!!

Cozy, quiet, excellent sound insulation. Spacious rooms. There is a sauna. Great service, convenient location, close to a supermarket and a pharmacy. Provide a card for free travel on the metro.

Booked a room at a special rate but did not realise that this did not include wifi. Hotel is advertised with free wifi. This should have been much clearer at time of booking. Wifi very expensive ..18 francs. For us this was a big negative.

The hotel was right on the lakefront/harbor with a great view from the lakeview room. The underground parking was great for a car trip stop and access to the hotel/lobby was easy and well laid out. The dining area was modern and well organized and the food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. The exercise room was magnificent and certainly better than any of the 4 and 5 star hotels we stayed at in Lucerne, Zurich and Geneva.
Not much on the negative side except it was a long trek to the city/shopping area. Checkout was a bit tight and we were locked out of our room at 12:01!!

We did encounter a couple of problems with the room which we felt were not handled in the manner that we would have expected. However, they were handled and taken care of.

The food in La Pecherie was not good. It was overcooked, even though we asked for medium. We all ordered Movenpick ice cream for desert - all arrived soft/melting. My husband complained, the waiter took his away & came back after a long wait with another bowl of ice cream, which was a little better. The waiter was not very interested in our complaints - we were a group of 7
The hotel was a complete surprise! Not only was it luxurious, it was also affordable. We had a lovely room on the 6th floor overlooking the lake where we enjoyed the fireworks the night of Switzerland's independence day. The hotel was close to the metro, for which they gave us a free pass. Very convenient. The staff was very helpful and very patient with all our questions.

Food was excellent, and mostly reasonable value. Menu was varied enough to keep interest through a number of meals. Breakfast was excellent, though expensive. Service at front desk, in the bar and for meals was excellent, though rather slow for one of our meals. Room, once changed from twin to double, was very nice.
The breakfast buffet was very expensive at 34 CHF. Bedroom windows could not be opened fully to take photographs of the lake. Internet was very slow, so couldn't work while staying there (hence facilities only marked good, rather than excellent).
Stayed in this hotel for the second in the Business room. Again was 100% with the room, especially with bed and pillows. Love design of the room. My mother stayed of the standard room and it was also very nice. Location of the hotel, imho, is better than in the city center - you are close to the lake and can enjoy it. Getting to every part of the city is sipmle - 2 min walk to Metro station. And a small supermarket nearby.

Room was tiny. Felt very cramped. Advertised big desk area but was very small. Felt almost like an inside cabin on a cruise. Soap in shower container empty 2nd day and difficult to get out. Room was not cleaned thouroughly.
The location of hotel is perfect. I have booked business double which is newly furnished. The interior is just awesome.
Not suitable if u r travelling with older children because the bathroom and toilet are open in room ie there is no door between room and toilet

On the second day of our stay the hostess had taken the remains of our soap but hasn't change it for a new one. It was a pity. Like in chip hotels that try to econom every cent. But it's the only one little problem

my room was next to a lift, I don't know how Movenpick justifies guestrooms situated next to a lift, but it defies spending a serious amount of money in the hope of staying in a comfortable relaxing hotel
The room was very warm. Even when I turned the Air condition - 'On' the entire night, still the room was very hot.

It was too hot outside and the A/C stopped working in the room at 01 A.M.. I called the reception and they said they can not do any thing for me the next day I talked to the manager and he was unfriendly and he said the will fix it but nothings happend for the next three days.. they only provided two fas to cool the room..
