The hotel is quirky - but very nicely so. The decor of old Spainish tiles in an ancient convent provides a comfortably and interesting historical ambiance. The hotel is clean and quiet, and the buffet breakfast is amongst the best we have enjoyed. Being only one hundred metres from the cathedral in the Santa Cr us district is a real bonus. A little gem of an hotel. Ideally situated within easy reach of all the main attractions, but it is down a relatively quiet alleyway so there is no traffic noise. I was so sad to come back home after this trip to Seville and the hotel
was definitely one of the reasons.
The hotel is set in an old mansion in traditional Seville style but it was very recently renovated. It is stylish and spacious (largest single room I've ever had) and everything was impeccably clean. They have a small pool and lounge area on the roof which affords a nice view and a great place to cool off after a busy afternoon.

Crazily I booked the gorgeous rooftop apartment in the middle of July. After a couple of hours in the apartment we had to request a move - just too hot for us after arriving from the Melbourne winter. The staff were so understanding and accommodating. The apartments are extremely good and real value for money. Maria who welcomed us was extremely friendly and very customer friendly too.
We were pleasantly surprised by the Nespresso machine in the apartment too.
The location is superb in the Santa Cruz area, literally just behind the cathedral. You can walk everything and you have the best tapas restaurants around the corner.
These apartments are really to be recommended and so is Sevilla in general.

El Duque is situated perfectly. I was in Seville for four days and three nights and didn´t use a taxi or bus at any time, it was possible to walk everywhere, even from the railway station to the hostal. We covered all of the old town and surround. Wonderful experience, I will do it again. -
