  Delightful converted monastery. While the rooms were basic the building and its gardens were fabulous - we had our picnic lunch in the cloister gardens. Extremely quiet and a quiet location on the university's old campus. Good continental breakfast. Lots of free parking.   I really appreciated the warmth of the welcome, the owner had learnt English later in life - again appreciated his efforts. He gave good recommnedations on where to go to eat and drink. The rooms were small but spotlessly clean and very warm. Breakfast consisted of copious amounts of fresh bread and butter, ham, cheese, honey, toast and a fried eg... ce que les gens disent » g, packet croissants and madeleine cakes, and a large pot of fresh coffee with an even larger jug of warm milk. Set me up for the day! - I felt most welcome and every effort was made to ensure my comfort. I appreciated the efforts made by the staff on reception to make sure I had any information I might need. Maps and advice on places of interest and restaurants etc was offered on arrival. The breakfast provided was excellent and was served in a friendly and attentive manner. All staff including the staff cleaning the rooms were friendly and greeted one with a smile.

  Having read lots of other reviews which said that it's not very private and the walls are made of paper, we weren't sure about staying there but in the end we were the only people in the hostel and it wasn't a problem.   I loved the hotel. All was quiet and beautiful. I would really recommend you to stay there. It is a 1-min walk from the Cathedal de Santiago. You will find everything at hand for your comfortable stay.The staff are magnificent and very-very attentive to guests. Special thanks to Pablo and Manuel who took care of me! - I have to admit that the staff was very polite and smiling. I loved the atmosphere of the hotel. It is just in the middle of the city and nature together. It has a small backyard and you can sit, have some drink and enjoy the fresh air. Next year i will visit Santiago de Compostela again for being a pilgrim and definitely stay here again.
