  We stayed at Hostal La Isla in august for 7 days with the half-board service. Satisfying food - but don't expect a five stars treatment, remember it is a hostel - daily cleaning service, aircon+wi-fi, closeness to the touristic port, the city centre, a supermarket and a free car parking in case you rent a car. Friendly and kind staff. Believe me, ... ce que les gens disent » it a good value for money and you won't get deceived by this hostel. - The owner was extraordinarily friendly and helpful; the double bedroom for a single person was more than adequate. Breakfast was lovely and he offered me choices of cheese and tomato on the toast - very Spanish and very nice. Location was very central but yet very quiet. Extremely good value. I will return because it's a beautiful spot and the people are so warm.

  The food at the hostal bar was amazing and the hostal itself was very cosy and inviting. Definitely a great location and I would recommend it to anybody with a budget! - It was situated near to Maó and near to es Castell also. It was a bus service.

  Admiral Lord Collinwood stayed here, in what was then a villa, whilst he was Commander in Chief of the British Navy in the Mediterranean during the Napoleonic era. The hotel is decorated with numerous paintings and artifacts from that era. It is also very convenient for visits to the forts at the entrance to Mahon harbour.
