Trevor and June give the place a personal touch I felt the moment I stepped out the car. Beautiful views of both Hout bay and the mountain, it makes for stunning sunsets. Staffs friendlyness makes you feel at home. You really feel close to nature. Love wakking up with the sounds of so many endemic bird sounds surrounding us. Very good security made me feel relaxed. Good food. Everything! The owners were just lovely helpful people who couldn't do enough for you. Our room was massive, the bed even bigger! We had our own balcony and the views were amazing. The location for us was perfect, we much preferred staying in Hout Bay over Cape Town. Can't say enough good things about the Amblewood - we will definitely return in the future!.

Travelling information

Directions from Cape Town International Airport: - From the airport take the N2 to Cape Town city. - Approximately 13 km later take the Kirstenbosch/ Muizenberg exit (M3). - Continue along this road until the first set of traffic lights. - Turn right following the signs to Kirstenbosch/ Hout Bay (M63). - Continue along this road, past Kirstenbosch main gate, until you reach a T-junction. - Turn right up the hill (still M63) and follow a winding, forested road. - When you reach the Constantia Nek roundabout, turn right down the hill following the signs to Hout Bay (M63). - Continue along Hout Bay Main Road (M63) until you see a Shell Petrol Station on your left. Immediately after this is Andrews Road. - Turn left into Andrews and then first right into Darling. - The third road on your left is Skaife. - Turn left into Skaife and continue up the hill. - Amblewood is the third house from the top of the road (which is a dead end) on the left. The number is 43 and the name is on the gate.
