The location behind the Hermitage, just off the beginning of the Nevski Prospect, a stone's throw from St Isaac's Cathedral, was perfect.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The amenities were as good as could be expected.
It was SAFE.

A very good hotel in an excellent location with great staff. Close to everything, suitable for sighseeing. The rooms were clean with all basic amenities. The staff was more than helpful on every request we had. ATM inside the hotel and 24h supermarket nearby also very convinient.Recommended as value for money. -

Location is prefect, Winter Palace of 2 minutes slow walk, although closest subway station is about 15-20 minutes walk. The room size is enough for a couple and those who gonna be out of the hotel for city sights in most time. Breakfast is great with the menu offerred a day before.

The hotel is situated very centrally at a walking distance from sights and metro stops. The interior is beautiful, the paintings in passages and rooms a nice touch. My single room was smallish but not at all claustrophobic. The bed was really comfortable with luxurious bedclothes. Good quality price ratio. Very good localization.
This pension is acctually ex flat. When you enter the building staircase you can be a little bit discouraged. But inside of the appartment it is clean and desent.
I think the personnel does not speak English so be prepared to practice your Russian.

The location is superb - it's one block from the Church on Spilled Blood, and the Main Street Nevsky Prospekt, and 5 min walk to the Hermitage / Winter Palace.
The staff are welcoming, friendly and keep the hostel very clean.
We liked it so much (and found so much to do in St Petersburg) that we stayed a second week, and have already recommended it to other travellers. Thanks Natasha, Lena and Jane!
