The Shinagawa Prince Hotel is actually a complex of 4 different
buildings and each one has different amenities, E.G., our hotel
didn't have an ice machine anywhere in the building but our friends
who were staying in another building did have one. They also had free
wi-fi and we had free ethernet (which doesn't do you much good with

The hotel has many wings and rooms with different profiles. The cheaper ones are standard Japanese business hotels, i.e. very small, cheap, functional. The more expensive ones give more space and luxury. Both offer good (if not extraordinary) value for money IMHO.
The unique selling point of this hotel is that it's a 3min walk from Shinagawa station from which you can get Shinkansen to Kyoto/Osaka, and Yamanote for pretty much anywhere.

Having stayed at the Family Inn Saiko for almost a week I have to say that the whole experience has been a truly pleasant one! In fact, I would go even so far as saying that it was one of the most pleasant experiences in a few years worth of travelling.

I loved how friendly and helpful the hotel staff was and how willing they were to assist me in my travels as well as answer my questions and concerns. The room was VERY clean and comfortable and it was a great Japanese cultural experience. It was conveniently located close to 3 subway stops, including the Ikebukuro station. I definitely enjoyed my stay here and if I am ever in Tokyo again, I will be staying here again! I have already recommended the Family Inn Saiko to friends!

This modern version of a ryokan is a great mix of new and traditional design. The four women staff we met were delightful, spoke English, helped with directions etc (thanks, Yuka). Rooms are small, of course, but there was a place for everything. Shared facilities were good quality, clean and well-supplied. Good breakfast choices, and teas and good coffee on demand. We chose the hotel for its good connection to Narita Airport Access Line for our last days in Japan. Kurama Station is only a few minutes away. The staff was extremely friendly and supportive. It was our first night in Japan. The room and bed was very small. But it was nice and clean. It is a standard business hotel, like you find everywhere. The restaurant was very nice. It was close to Asakusa Station. The temple and market is in 10 min walking distance. Good train connection to explore the city. The area can be a bit quiet in the evening.

I enjoyed trying for the first time the "capsule"; it's
rare to find Capsule hotel for woman and this one is really great value
for money. Of course because there's a lot of people in one spare
big room, if some ones are noisy and no respectfull you can have some
difficult sleep but anyway it's so nice, clean and original that
it's really my favorite place for staying in Tokyo ! ANd the common
bathroom is so clean, so nice, with a big bath, and shampoo, and all for

This was our second stay at Tokyo Kiba Hotel - and this is really the best variant for saving money not for waste!
The hotel is located very close to Metro station. The access to the main stations - Tokyo, Ueno, Ginza and Akihabara takes about 15-20 minutes.

The sleeping capsule was very nice. The sitting-areas (breakfast-salong). The smokers place in second floor, on an outdoor stair with view to a traffic section and the under-side of a concrete road, and buildings. The well equipped shower-room: Outside the small spa itself there were many seats with their own basin and mirror and products and dryers m.m.
Mens spa has a proper pool. Several very good 24-hour convenience-stores near the hotel.

Great, efficient, very friendly, clean. Note that there isn't wi-fi but there's a computer to use. You can't leave your bag for a while once you'e checked out, but if you're staying multiple nights you can leave it throughout the in-between days, if that makes sense. Still giving this five stars because everything promised was delivered to the highest standard. If you're reading this in English, you're probably considering a capsule hotel just for the experience... and it IS an experience. Expect to see lots of exhausted and frazzled business-types. The Green Plaza is fastidiously clean and well-organized. -
