We really enjoyed our stay, since it was our first time in a Ryokan, we were very happy that one of the staff members could speak english and explain the basic rules that we have to follow when staying in a traditional japanese Ryokan. Also the image with the instructions of how to wear the Yukata were very nice for us. And also the use of the ons

The housekeeper lady was extremely warm, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the city and the attractions. She made you feel very at home. My family and I stayed in Japan for 7 years as the company country president and I aware of what is good standard in Japan.

Réelle expérience de chambre à la japonaise. Bien situé par rapport aux sites intéressants, moins par rapport à la gare. Contact très agréable avec le personnel. A dépassé les attentes, car le wi-fi n'était pas mentionné, et était meilleur que le Mercure(4*) de Tokyo. -

We really liked the views from the hotel of the mountains and over the town of Takayama. The staff was very friendly and their English was good enough. The hotel is huge and though it might seem old, it still preserves the style and grace from back in the day when it was built. The onsen was great, with a bath inside and outside, separated for men

Excellent hotel. We had a wonderful stay: beautiful public bath, spacious tradicional rooms with amazing view of the city. Extremely helpful staff although do not speak a lot of English. Breakfast was included and if was delicious!! As it is quite far away from the station they offer a shuttle free bus to the station at mornings.
They even gave us a traditional tissue as a gift!!

Hotel japonais traditionnel bien situé, proche du centre ville et des quartiers anciens ou de nombreux temples sont à visiter.Chambre confortable, et bains japonais bien éauipée et très propres. Accueil sympathique , les petits déjeuners et diners japonais sont excellents, la salle de repas donne sur le bassin à carpes koi qui sont superbes. -

i liked everything in Tanabe Ryokan begining with Mrs. Akiko Tanabe, the owner. She is a very friendly japanese woman that runs the Hotel and that made me a lot a good recomendations. Staying in a Ryokan is a experience you must take when travelling to Japan and Tanabe Ryokan is great choice! the food was wonderful and the staff was very friendly

Staying in Ryokan Murayama was a great experience as we wanted to stay in a more traditional accommodation in a rural setting. The train trip to Takayama was a highlight as it was so picturesque. Our breakfast was beautifully arranged and the service at Murayama Ryokun was exceptional. The rooms are well appointed, very clean and very comfortable.

We really loved staying at Ryokan Murayama. The train station pick up and daily shuttle runs were a valuable and welcome service. The gentleman innkeeper was very welcoming, helpful with the luggage, friendly, and spoke English very well. It felt like a family-run business, and the lady innkeeper was very sweet as well, serving us delicious kaiseki-type meals for dinner. Lots of food and delicious too!
