Ce que les gens disent
Loved it. I wanted to spend at least one night at a more traditional ryokan-type place, and this was great. Very comfortable, but still affordable. The breakfast was delicious! I'd definitely recommend it if you like japanese food - lots of tasty dishes, well prepared and presented.
The staff is very welcoming and professional. They don't speak a lot of english, but they are used to non-japanese speaking guests and get by fine. Plus there is some written information in English if you need it. . tous commentaires »
Very nice ryokan located uphill with a beautiful view. We had a japanise style room, spacious and clean with a small terrace overlooking Takayama. Moreover, we had a private japanise cypress bath in the room and was fantastic!
Takayama is a beautiful town, the ancient area is very suggestive. We had kaiseki dinner and japanese breakfast in the hotel and was perfect. There's only a guy that speaks english but he's in the hotel most of the time! Also the pubblic onsen is very nice.
Even if is not.
Amazing onsen, we loved them and used all the time. Superb
location, just 5 mins to the old town and yet its elevation means a
view over the city.
Lovely breakfast beautifully presented, well worth it! Our first ryokan experience and t was great, worth the extra money for location, baths and breakfast.
Shuttle will collect at station after 3pm and drop you before 10am, just call when you arrive
Bus to Kanazawa via Shirawakawa-go is well worth it, great side trip and very easy t do with luggage e.
Friendly and patient staff. We arrived 45 mins before the check-in time at the station and we were ready to wait for the pick-up but they cheerfully drove over to pick us up. The dinner we had was unforgettable. Delicious and lovingly prepared. They had nice onsen baths as well, overlooking Takayama city.
Lovely traditional room, nice views, very friendly staff, spa rooms fabulous. The only stay in our Japan trip that felt like a home from home. Felt sorry to leave it. Location great for folks who don't mind a short walk, tourist area down the hill, and peaceful, beautiful temple area up the hill.
Amazing, Takayama is beautiful but staying at a place like this
really makes the difference. Felt like we were really experiencing
Japanese hospitality. The shuttle was really helpful, the town is a
short walk away, nice walks to temples near by and the onsen in the
hotel is awesome.
The hotel is up the hill with amazing views. It is about 15 minutes easy walk from train station. Staff are very friendly and attentive although no one speak English. The hida beef dinner was delicious and well worth for money.
The room is very clean with traditional Ryokan style. Hotel staff is friendly though can't speak English well. Hotel is situated on hill with nice view. Recommend Japanese traditional hotel breakfast in morning.
Amazing place, our best hotel in Japan. Absolutely no complains. The
uphill is literally 2 min walk, can't believe some people
complain about it. Even the train station is only 15 min walk. Old
town is 5 min walk.
Very friendly staff. Great breakfasts. Liked having the onsen available. Shuttle is very convenient. Make sure you take the short cut to and from town - a 10 minute walk becomes a 2 minute walk.
Liked everything about the property, excellent service, amazing traditional breakfast, very clean rooms and just loved the spa. I would definitely go again and stay longer.
Beautiful ryokan, very authentic. Good onsen, hardly anyone using it. Friendly staff, although not everyone speaks English. Not far from town. Free shuttle bus.
helpful staff, good meal, nice onsen, clean rooms, good location, easy to reach the main city (but located on a hill), free transport from and to the station.
The cypress tub, bedding, breakfast and dinner were all great. Only one person spoke English but the rest of the staff were very accommodating.
feel of traditional Japanese environment, very clean, nice and helpful staff, a young man with good English, relaxing hotspring.
We loved our room, as it had a lovely view, comfortable futons, and a lot of space..beautiful ofuro...
An opportunity to experience a Japanese-style hotel.
The Onsen, the view, the breakfast.
Very good food in the ryokan.
Amazing breakfast.
good view.
The room was clean and reasonably spacious. The bathroom was O.K. the
deep bathtub fun. The location was good, although uphill taxis were
affordable if required.
The view across Takayama. You get a feeling of luxury. Nice traditional room. Small onsen on site. Free shuttle bus to the station.
Nice location, not too close or too far to the city. Quiet neighborhood, on a small hill overlooking the city.
Cheap.
Good service, great onsen and excellent japanese breakfast with hoba miso.
The public bath - although outdoor onsen being refurbished.
Nice view.
Private 'onsen' (hot spa bath) available.
Location is ok close to old city takayama.
Jappanise room.
Guests should be aware that the hotel is up a hill. There is a great view, and it's not a difficult walk normally. But if you have bigger luggage than you should probably call them when you arrive and get the free shuttle up.
Due to the hotel's location, they should extend the time table for the shuttle bus, expecially in the morning. The shuttle bus is available only from 8.00am.
Its a small city so staying anywhere is easy to see everything.
We didn't go full board because of price but ended up paying same or more to eat Hida beef in town so is worth considering this option if that's your plan - beef very pricey everywhere!.
We liked everything.
Minor-Could have used a reading lamp, as one of us wakes at 4 am and reads, as it was had to lay in the dark trying not to wake jet-lagged husband.
Cant think of anything.
None.
Price is too high, not valued for money.
The hotel and rooms are a bit dated. This didn't impact our stay tremendously but the hotel is showing its wear and tear. Sleeping on tatami mats also isn't the most comfortable.
A bit expensive relative to other places.
rooms have seen better days; clean but a bit worn.
The only downfall was the walk up the hill to get to the hotel.
a bit far from train station, but shuttle is provided.
We liked everything about it.. no problems.. staff was very nice, and accommodating.
Very hard to sit on the floor - we were too old to sit crossed-legged or
kneel comfortably on the cushion supplied at the breakfast table.
Room cleaning crew was sloppy.
We were charge twice being more than the correct rate, and are having
trouble getting a refund.
The cigarette smoke that pervades most of Japan's hotels - though
this wasn't half as bad as most - as far as we can tell. Even out
'non-smoking' rooms had ashtrays in them!.
Temperature of the two baths was extremely high.
The ventilation of the air in the hotel, the food smell all over he place. You have to open your room door quickly then close to avoid the food spell into the room.
For the price point, the carpet and wall painting could be in better shape (refreshed).
Slightly outside town
Overpriced, we stayed in another traditional inn in Takayama which was cheaper and better (Hodakaso Yamano Iori).
Hotel was in need of refurbishment - works were ongoing when we arrived though.
Would not class as a four star hotel.
Tired and worn furnishings; japanese style room had inadequate
futon (thin).
Stayed in nicer ryokans.
location, no english, not comfort.
