After a minor problem we where conducted to a suberb room, extremely well conceived, a room not only big, but with a wonderful view from the living room and the bathroom. The kitchen is fully furnished, we had breakfast in the morning sitting in a very nice veranda. An Hakodate is a place to visit. Finally, the hotel is extremely well located, in between the station and the historical district.

The hotel couldn't be better situated (or better value) as it is just 5 minutes walk from the combined station and bus terminal which has a tourist office with plenty of maps and timetables for the public transport. NB: If you are flying to or from Wakkanai

I arrived late at night, when I arrived the owner (?) of this place was incredibly friendly and even went so far as to carry my extremely heavy luggage up to my room. The room was unusually spacious for Japanese standards, even larger than in most more expensive accomodations I have used in Japan so far, it had everything you need and (important in Japan) a very cozy and soft futon. I have slept in many places in Japan, and especially the cheap places often have incredibly uncomfortable futons,

Location is good, just 2 subway stns (Subway Namboku Line- green line) from Sapporo JR Station. I have stayed twice, good location, good staff, room provided microwave, cooking utensiles for simply cooking. good for family and backpackers, easy access to Sapporo Stn &Odari Stn, slot of eating places & 24 hrs convenience stores, from susukino stn underground shopping street links to Odari and Sapporo Stn. near to Raman Street.

It is a japanese ryokan, guest were mostly japanese. The facilty is a
bit old but they have free onsen pools indoor and out door 24 hours! It
was very near to attractions and they have a well stock pub with sake
and whiskies...friendly staff but few spoke english...but it was not a
problem as they were so friendly and helpful.
