Definitely worth the trip and the 10 eu - This hotel was perfectly located for touring around Ortigia! About a 20 min walk from the train and bus stations in Syracuse. The place is beautifully remodeled, and the staff was welcoming and helpful in every way possible. Breakfast was amazing, too! The warmed ricotta with garlic was amazing! There was so much choice... including homemade pastry from the owner's nonna. Delicious! I would definitely come back here.

  This "grande dame" of a hotel, while somewhat dated in appearance, is in a fabulous location right on the waterfront in Ortigia - the historic center of Siracusa. Parking is easy and reasonable-a huge plus if you're driving. The rooms aren't huge, but are quite comfortable; housekeeping standards are excellent. When you eat in the fourth-floor hotel dining room, the windows on three sides look largely over the Mediterranean, but also over old rooftops. Walking was a delight, there is a terrific gourmet Locanda nearby. Our room was large with two sets of French doors looking onto the street and to the sea and swimming rock! The bathroom was luxurious - loved the towel bathrobe and slippers. Breakfast was good with an extensive buffet.
