  Generator was a great place to stay in Venice. Even though it is on Giudecca, there is a vaporetto stop near the hostel and getting to St. Mark's Square is quick and easy. Staff were generally helpful and made a special effort to help us locate a lost piece of luggage at the airport. Certainly better than your average budget hostel. - They helped me to charge my phone when my cable got broken. Very comfortable beds with lights that don't disturb others. Quite cheap, good breakfast for additional price. It was a half-populated 16 person dorm, but it was comfortable to stay there. It is on a separate island from the city center, but public transport is working all the night so it's not a problem.

  My stay at Giudecca Bella was wonderful, and allowed for a more relaxed and quiet stay in Venice, than staying on San Marco. And the great thing is it is only 2 minutes away from San Marco on the ferry. Very friendly and welcoming, very pretty, and the price is right, particularly for Venice.   Salute Palace, has modern rooms, with tecnology, everything was new at the room, like a bathroom, tv, air conditioner. Wifi was for free, thats good. Near to the salute water station and the port.
