  The staff was very friendly (Romanian employees at the reception), they helped us with every request we had, very good location in the city center, easy to find, even if it was on crowded street, room was not noisy. The room was also clean and had towels in the bathroom. Hotel is in the center of Genoa, next to all you need - old town, antic port, Duomo of Genoa, shops, restaurants, train station, supermarket and Italian market with fruits, cheeses, spicies etc, restaraunts. From the hotel it's a really easy walk to the old part of town, some great sights and the waterfront.   L'Hotel Balbi est vraiment le cadre idéal pour découvrir Gênes. Les chambres sont spatieuses, disposent de tout le confort nécessaire et sont bien entretenues. En outre, l'accueil est réellement charmant et convivial : c'est l'Italie que l'on aime au fond !!! L a proximité avec la gare ( quelques minutes à pied) et avec le centre ( guère plus loin.... ce que les gens disent » ..) est un réel avantage. La tranquillité de la rue est également à noter. - sympathique, bien situé, bon petit déjeuner en plus nous avons vu, sur place, qu'il était recommandé par le guide du routard (notre référence).

  We arrive in Genoa to find out there would be a train strike on the day we were to leave. We had booked 2 nights at the hotel. We explained to the lovely young lady about our predicament and that we wanted to only stay one night as we did not want to get caught up in the train strike.
