  I had a wonderful 4 nights here. It's an incredibly homely place, with glorious thick carpets, a welcoming breakfast room and generally a fresh, modern and bright feel throughout. I had a single room up at the top of the house, facing the back.   It well decorated and spotless clean. It's not far from Galway centre, it took me only 20 minutes to walk. If you end up taking a cab from eyre square it' costs around 8 euros if you want to compare the the prices with the guesthouses in the town centre. I would recommend this guesthouse to everyone, it's good value, comfortable and very clean. There's also a nice kitchen in the hall so that you can make tea / coffee whenever you like. 4. Genuinely friendly and helpful staff. 5.   The Salt Hill Location itself is nice village, with a variety of restaurants. We tried Black Cat which was great for lunch but service a little slow during dinner. The fish and chips shop is great too for takeaways. I pick up my morning coffee from Gourmet Tart Company next door (they open at 7:30am). Not only was it convenient to Galway city center, but to a delightful area called Upper Salthill. Wonderful pubs and restaurants just around the corner!
