That is was clean, nicely kept (no mold on ceilings or funky smells). The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked that it kind of felt like you were in the country, even though you really weren't. Having stayed at the Southway a half dozen times in the last ten years, this visit was the best by far--perhaps it has something to do with the change of ownership?? The reception staff were excellent: getting me a coffee while I waited to check-in (the system was down) and then giving me 10% discount vouchers. The same ready and pleasant service

I liked the clean homey atmosphere of the hotel and also the fact that
it is only a 5 min drive to the Casino and race track. Staff were very
helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the Shallows restaurant --- got an upgrade
during the current renovations and appreciated that very much.

I had to be located near the hospital during a bad snow storm. The Residence Inn fit the bill perfectly. Lovely room, very comfortable, accommodating staff. Breakfast was very good, not your usual hotel breakfast. I will be staying there again! Wonderful hotel!

We really enjoyed staying in the student Resident units in place of a hotel, for a few reasons. Bringing our own utensils and soaps, dish cloths, etc., was something we just knew because we were familiar with our son having stayed at an Ottawa university. I like that it was close to transit hub and an easy 15 min bus ride to
downtown Ottawa. It was clean and well maintained, both inside and out
(landscaping etc). The staff were quick and efficient, we checked in at
3 pm with a large group also checking in and didn't have to wait
very long. Staff were knowledgeable about the area and what was
available for restaurants and attractions. Heather was especially
helpful with some great tips on the area.

The Cartier Place is a wonderful hotel. Centrally located to many of
the attractions. One feature that we enjoyed was the kitchenette.
Helped save us a little money by cooking breakfast in the morning so we
were not rushed to get out of the hotel in the mornings to find
something to eat.

It's centric. My room and my bed were big. Good/affordable meals. - The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Pierre who was working the front desk on Dec 31st and Jan 1st he was outstanding in his customer service. Our interaction with Pierre made the trip memorable.

The hotel absolutely accommodated my somewhat specific requests about not having a room close to elevator, ice machine, not having an adjoining room and otherwise potentially noisy areas. The result was a fabulously quiet and relaxing 5-day stay. -
