  What an amazing place to stay for a holiday! The first pousada to be founded in Trancoso about 28 years ago by a couple whose grown children (Joanna and Ian) now virtually run the place. From the amazing breakfast buffet to the daily "tea" cake buffet in the late afternoon, we felt pampered and cared for like nowhere we've ever stayed, not even t... ce que les gens disent » he Four Seasons Hotel! We had deluxe rooms at a very reasonable rate compared to the pousadas located directly on the beaches nearby. We were in walki - A family owned operation who run an exceptional Pousada. The attention to detail was incredible, especially the strategically placed vases of stunning tropical flowers placed in our room and all around the Pousada. Afternoon tea that was provided was a very special touch. Great value.

From taking us on a private tour of Arraial d'Ajuda, to wonderful homecooked breakfasts, we felt like we were friends, not guests. You can tell they love the wonderful home they have created and love even more sharing it with their guests. The rooms are rustic and romantic, and you feel like you are staying in paradise. - An intimate pousada stylishly decorated and surrounded by lush greenery. Bernard and Regine were extremely friendly and helpful hosts while still allowing us the independence and privacy we wanted. The breakfast was excellent. The beaches(10mins walk) are beautiful and the bar and restaurant area of Arraial (20mins walk)was safe and had excellent live music.

  The staff is helpful, friendly and very cooperative. We have been travelling in brasil for quite a while and this is the only recommendation we placed at booking. Casa petunia is a place were you feel comfortable directly. The rooms are excellent (good showers!). The pousada is nice decorated with a family- atmosphere. Nice neighbourhood with beaches - The atmosphere was quite intoxicating leaning toward the exotic. The proprietor made us feel very at home almost as if we were staying with welcoming friends. Mornings couldn't come soon enough anticipating the excellent breakfast that awaited us. The Atlantic beach, walking minutes away from the pousada was beckoning. The rooms were comfortable especially the lobby and dining area, which was filled with exquisite art and furnishing from Bali. Casa Petunia far exceeded all of our expectations.
