  I went here with a friend for the Carnival and was extremely please by the friendly and helpfulness of staff, and the great atmosphere that this place had.   Extremely friendly hostel right in the heart of the Pelourinho. The facilities are certainly a bit spartan, but the staff are overly friendly, speak many languages, and they assist you and advise you on all matters. The rooms are very simple but spacious, clean and fresh. They also have fridges for keeping snacks or drinks. The view from the rooms is very - Location was excellent, in the heart of Pelhourhino. Even though accommodation reflected the historic nature of the buildings and area (basic and old fashioned) it added to the feel of being in an historic, authentic location. We had a room which adjoined a communal terrace with fantastic sea views and ideal for enjoying a late night drink.

  L'accueil des propriétaires, Stéphane et Géruda est de très grande qualité ; chaleureux sans être familier, prévenant sans être envahissant, serviable sans être servile, bref de vrais professionnels. De surcroit polyglottes. Leur connaissance fine de la ville et de sa culture, en font des conseillers perspicaces sur ce qu'il y a à voir à Salvador.... ce que les gens disent » Très disponibles, ils sont véritablement attentifs à ce que votre séjour se déroule de la meilleure des façons. Le personnel de la pousada Casa Villa - Gerusa et Stéphane ont été adorables et très chaleureux. Ils nous ont bien conseillé sur les points touristiques et m'ont aidé quand j'étais malade (l'huile de palme peut être fatale! :-)). La décoration de la pousada est très typique et on s'y sent bien. Il y aussi pas mal de bars très sympas dans la rue où on peut boire un dernier verre et écouter un concert avant de remonter se coucher.

From our personal welcome by Charles, the owner, to the helpful stuff, including Felipe and Martos, to the amazing breakfast each morning, Pousada Redfish is a true lodging gem. Showers were always hot and with good water pressure. The in-room safe was indispensabl - Redfish is quirky in the best possible way: the artwork, the indoor jungle garden. It's small so you can get to know other travellers. The staff is helpful but not intrusive. The breakfasts are wonderful. Salvador can be a bit daunting so it's good to be just on the edge of Pelhourino but only 5 mins walk downhill.

No one could visit and not appreciate the care and thought that has gone into the design and attention to detail, especially in the bay-facing rooms, with their balconies and spacious, comfortable rooms. This was a genuinely laid-back stay, with all needs catered for and a delicious breakfast freshly-prepared each morning... ce que les gens disent » . We spent plenty of time in the pousada (guest house) simply relaxing in the huge lounge downstairs, with its paintings and shelves full of books. The owners I believe live in Italy, but their staff more than take care of you. Excellent place. For some reason Salvador seemed quite - We enjoyed our stay at Pousada Colonial very much. We stayed only one night and wish we have stayed longer. The hotel is an old beautiful building located close (10-15 minute walk) to the historical center of Salvador. We loved bright and tasteful interior of the hotel. The room was beautiful and clean. Staff was wonderful, most of them spoke English. The girl at the reception (unfortunately I don't know her name) was incredibly helpful - she helped us to check in on our flight (wi-fi internet
