  Extremely friendly hostel right in the heart of the Pelourinho. The facilities are certainly a bit spartan, but the staff are overly friendly, speak many languages, and they assist you and advise you on all matters. The rooms are very simple but spacious, clean and fresh. They also have fridges for keeping snacks or drinks. The view from the rooms is very - Location was excellent, in the heart of Pelhourhino. Even though accommodation reflected the historic nature of the buildings and area (basic and old fashioned) it added to the feel of being in an historic, authentic location. We had a room which adjoined a communal terrace with fantastic sea views and ideal for enjoying a late night drink.

  L'accueil des propriétaires, Stéphane et Géruda est de très grande qualité ; chaleureux sans être familier, prévenant sans être envahissant, serviable sans être servile, bref de vrais professionnels. De surcroit polyglottes. Leur connaissance fine de la ville et de sa culture, en font des conseillers perspicaces sur ce qu'il y a à voir à Salvador.... ce que les gens disent » Très disponibles, ils sont véritablement attentifs à ce que votre séjour se déroule de la meilleure des façons. Le personnel de la pousada Casa Villa - Gerusa et Stéphane ont été adorables et très chaleureux. Ils nous ont bien conseillé sur les points touristiques et m'ont aidé quand j'étais malade (l'huile de palme peut être fatale! :-)). La décoration de la pousada est très typique et on s'y sent bien. Il y aussi pas mal de bars très sympas dans la rue où on peut boire un dernier verre et écouter un concert avant de remonter se coucher.

  This place is a real gem. No one could visit and not appreciate the care and thought that has gone into the design and attention to detail, especially in the bay-facing rooms, with their balconies and spacious, comfortable rooms. This was a genuinely laid-back stay, with all needs catered for and a delicious breakfast freshly-prepared each morning... ce que les gens disent » . We spent plenty of time in the pousada (guest house) simply relaxing in the huge lounge downstairs, with its paintings and shelves full of books.   We where a bit uncertain where to stay in Salvador given its reputation of not being the worlds most secure place... This Pousada is located about 15-20 min walk from the Pelorinhou which at first glance (we arrived late night) may seem a bit insecure. But that impression was wrong, the walk to Pelorinho is beautiful with interesting buildings and... ce que les gens disent » also feeling secure (of course avoid walking after midnight). We preferred staying a bit outside Pelorinhou as it is much calmer here. The pousada it - location is safe and very pleasant, just few minutes of walk to Pelourinho. rooms are clean and have a very pleasant atmosphere. tasty breakfast on terrace was a very nice start for a day in Salvador. Zelina (the owner) was very helpful. they also offer transport from the airport.
