The Black Horse Inn is a cross between a B&B and a motel. It's a relatively new building, so everything works properly, as one would expect in a well-run motel, but the rooms and setting are more comfortable, more like a B&B. We especially liked the quietness, even though the Atlantic coast highway was very accessible, as well as the view from the dining area of the large open field behind the property. From the moment we arrived , Fran, the Inn keeper/owner was most gracious, escorting us to our rooms to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, to a wonderful more than continental breakfast daily We felt more like we stayed at a Bed and Breakfast rather than just a hotel. The Inn was very clean and the gardens beautiful. We would highly recommend staying at The Black Horse as it also centrally located to many coastal de. The staff was excellent. We talked with office mgmt. And staff during continental breakfast (which was excellent). They offered several insights to the area. Laughed and joked about shopping and had an overall wonderful time. Nice location only a short drive from Camden and from a small, nice beach (even it was rather small, but only locals and an excellent lobster restaurant). Quiet stay. The house looks very nice. Pool outside.Spacious rooms. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The hotel provided a substantial continental breakfast and added some extra comfort food for us. Innkeepers attitude, old furniture in rooms, lack of variety in breakfast food, ancient towels and bedding. I do not know how other travelers gave this place good ratings...it needs an immediate upgrade...would never stay here again.
