  The hotel was nice. It was very fitting to the small country feel in Hilo. Jade was so nice and very prompt with having stuff out for breakfast in the morning. Everything was very homely and comfortable and the location great for walking into hilo town itself for a beer and for exploring the sites of the big island. Oh and the breakfast is great too. - Perfect place, we loved it here. Patricia has a lovely home and she rents out rooms to guests. So this is more a homestay than a hotel. Everything was clean and cosy, and breakfast was definitely the best we had in Hawaii!!! Take a close look at the address and a map before you go though, because there is no sign on the house.

There is a big porch with comfortable chairs/sofas/tables, with nice surrounding. It was a perfect location for our visit to the big island. Close to volcanoes national park, mauna kea, downtown Hilo,akaka falls plus other sites we were not aware of. John and Charlotte made us feel like family and they provided great tips for places we wanted to visit.   This place has a some kind of a charm that might not be obvious at first glance. It felt like living in a real Hilo, not just a random hotel that could be the same anywhere in the world. It`s not shiny and new but clean, comfortable, peaceful and taken care of. Open lobby was great with nice view to the garden and the sea.
