We were flying from DCA - so a quick 5 min walk to metro and we were at the airport < 30mins!!

As far as "sketchy" people in the area I will say this, there is a mix of people in the area & there are pan handlers all over dc, even by the White House.   As a mature couple we found the Hotel to meet all of our needs. The staff were friendly, the room was large with two double beds, comfortable and clean. We had room 410 right outside the lift but with one exception it wasn't noisy.
