  We were stollen at Georgetown and the staff of the hotel was very kind and helpful. They have called the police, who came to the hotel and at the end of the day, when we arrived to the room, we had a very kind note offering a bottle of wine and some fruit. They made as feel as if we were at home in a difficult situation. Thanks a lot! These areas included an excellent restaurant and bar and a lovely reading room. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. The spa was fabulous. Three of our party had a massage, and each of us was pleased with the experience. The room was quiet and nicely appointed, although not as luxurious as some other five star hotels we've stayed in.

  As a mom traveling with 2 children, we REALLY enjoyed our stay at The Baron Hotel. Dwight, the front desk wizard, was friendly, helpful, and so great with the kids. The location is in a very safe area which is easily accessible from public transit. It is an older hotel, but this added to its charm rather than detract from it. The staff at the restaurant/bar were so nice , gave us ice in our cooler every time we needed with no problem at all. Loved the 4 days we spent there. Would stay again in a heartbeat!   The area is not bad at all! There is construction, but you can tell it is an up & coming area! If you use 200 Florida ave ne you will get to the hotel no problem. As far as "sketchy" people in the area I will say this, there is a mix of people in the area & there are pan handlers all over dc, even by the White House.
