  I had to step up the itinerary of my trip by two days. Although I didn't get the same room class/price, the day manager worked with me over the phone to get a room booked. When I arrived, the (same?) manager noted that we had one small child, and changed the room to accomodate, without changing the price.   Out of context the rate seems a little bit expensive... But we compared with so many other hotels in the area, and I really think this was the best hotel for this price range! The location was amazing - north beach on one side and chinatown on the other; walking distance to fisherman's wharf... We used the parking garage and it was very safe & private, and I actually didn't mind paying for it because I woul - I did like they offered breakfast which other hotels in the area didn'T. Breakfast was simple: cereals, breads, juices, boiled eggs. The price was good compared to others in the area. I liked the location, I wouldn't normally stay in "china town" but I enjoyed the experience. One street over is North Beach, which isn't a "beach". More appropriate name should be "little italy"; very good italian restaurants. I would stay here again if the prices stayed the way they were.

Shower in bathroom great pressure and nice and hot. Would recommend for short stopover, certainly not luxury but adequate.

  A nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. It is very central, so perfect for visiting SF. you can go almost anywhere walking from the hotel. The bed was comfy, everything was clean so.. all ok.   The Room was great. Very Clean. Hotel front desk woman with an accent wasn't warm, but helpful. The guy who worked the front desk on Saturday night was awesome. The art going up the staircase looked like a mess. I know art, this was design student style. Sorry. Just saying. Looked like elements were peeled off. Cool... The elevator was slow, - The location was very central. The restaurant dinner we had was fabulous, very high quality menu. General ambience,decor and atmosphere was good especially cocktail bar and live music. Considering it was a city hotel with obviously limited space we really enjoyed our stay there.

The location of the Baldwin Hotel is just great - literally steps from Chinatown's main gate and only one block from Union Square and public transportation.   I found the service to be excellent and it started way before we even arrived. The concierge helped us to find the right tour companies and plan out our trip so it was everything we wanted. They took care of everything without question. I will definetly stay at this hotel again. - Overall a very pleasant stay with close proximity to shops and public transport. Gliezl at the front desk was amazing and moved us to a quiet floor after moving twice due to the thinness of the walls. She was professional, friendly and efficient and made sure we got a room without an interleding door as well as a breathtaking bay view!
