This elegant Georgian mansion is set within 9 acres of beautiful grounds, 10 minutes’ walk from Sidmouth’s centre. With a 15-metre pool, it also boasts a grand music room with chandeliers and a Gothic organ. With lovely garden views, the bright and warmly furnished bedrooms in the main building each include free Fairtrade tea and coffee, and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Rooms in the main building also have a flat-screen TV. The annexe rooms have shared bathroom facilities with hair dryers and tea making facilities. Buffet-style breakfasts are served each day in the restaurant, along with lunches and a dinner menu. There is also a coffee shop within the hotel, offering craft items and greetings cards. Guests can relax in the pretty gardens or or enjoy a game of snooker, table tennis, or putting. Free parking is available, and Peak Hill, with its stunning views over the town, is just a 5-minute drive away. Exeter is 16 miles from The Sidholme Hotel, and Sidmouth Golf Club is a 15-minute drive away.

Location across road from family we were visiting. Peace and quiet. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. Surroundings and atmosphere of hotel very pleasant. 50% cheaper at least than all others locally. (Breakfast extra) Grounds lovely and other guests were all very pleasant, perhaps due to the no bar, family friendly, swimming pool nature of this hotel. felt like we'd been transported to Italy ! Such a charming building in lovely grounds,- even some of the wisteria was still in bloom. Peaceful, tucked away location yet minutes from the sea. Shhh it's our secret haven. Wish i'd had time to use the pool. Just wait till you see the oppulant music room.
kaikki arvostelut » Our room was lovely. It included extras such as bath robes and sparkling water. The hotel grounds were spacious and well kept and there was a pool for guest's use. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious and the staff were all helpful and friendly. Great value, and the bathroom was only 2 doors from our bedroom so no issue with not being ensuite. Sink and tea facilities in room, well signposted from main road and lots of carparking. I thought it was different from other hotels and truly relaxing without being false or too commercial. The garden is wonderful Definitely the best hotel I have stayed in for years. Very lovely family feeling, safe and pleasant. Great for kids, lots to do and nice clientele. Great pool and gardens. Very quiet at night, slept well and we will come back. everything was just right ! the breakfast has to be seen (or tried) to be believed. peace and tranquility in abundance. if you want a relaxing break, this is the place. It was very clean and the staff were lovely (especially the ladies doing the cleaning). We stayed in the Annexe. Good location for Sidholm & surrounding areas. The location was very quiet and staff very polite and the room was clean. The room at the hotel/hostel was very basic, but for the price I would stay there again. It was basic, but it suited us as we knew we would just need a bed for the night. It was good value. The gardens were peaceful and the pool was nice. I would not have stayed for more than the one night. The grounds where most attractive and peaceful. The room was well decorated and the bed most comfortable. Had to open all windows as heating not controllable and on very high (hotel aware of this in the room we had) glad we were visiting family and out. Shame that a known problem isn't fixed!. Nothing to dislike. True some of the lounge furnishings were a bit tired but to me it only added to the charm of this stunning Georgian building. We enjoyed everything about our stay. The hotel is run by a Christian Guild and most of the guests ate at tables for eight. Since we were on our own we were offered a table for two which was lovely for us, although sharing a table would have been no problem. The room doors bang so it was very noisy in the mornings & late at night - which was a bit annoying, but other than that, no complaints. The annexe was a little noisy early in the mornings Breakfast was expensive. Single room that I was in was located above the kitchen, lots of kitchen noise and particularly bad hot greasy smells. Room basic but comfortable. No tv in room but excellent TV lounge. Basic accommodation in the Annexe was a bit too basic - better quality towels would have been appreciated. There wasn't anything we didn't like. old towels. Nothing. no bar lol.... Table tennis not enough room. Nothing. We were no advised at any time during booking that the hotel is actually a Christian retreat owned by the chain Christian Guild. The hotel was all geared around religion which was rather uncomfortable for atheists! Plus they only offer dinner at 6.30pm on communal tables. Simply for these reasons we will not stay again. One of the car parks was a bit far away to pull 2 bags and stairs were narrow and windy to manoeuvre luggage. the price of the breakfast check out time too early. No TV in room Breakfast expensive Hotel dated. No Shower in Bathsoom. Exept the area of room 62 as we did up grade to change. breakfast arrangements - communal table at end of period was dirty, even in the 'unused' places. Not there very long so can't tell. Breakfast. We stayed in the annexe and had to share a bathroom and toilet. There was no television in the room and as we were going to a family funeral the next day, we did not want to share the communial lounge. Lack of TV and phone in rooms but really we didn't mind that.A soap and shampoo shelf fitted at waist height in the shower would have been useful. Our room was small with rather tired fittings. This was very different from the room shown on the website.Kept awake until 1.30am by a disco on a neighbouring property. The room, very hot and very noisy was located in an annexe adjacent to the main building and overlooking staff quarters and kitchens with doors slamming at night, poor location in relation to the main house which was lovely, and the shower pressure in the en-suite was hopeless. Rooms did not have tv's and the bed was very low. There was no lift. Breakfast was very good but a little expensive. VERY dated, and not all beddings were white. Food was mediocre and over priced. Room was too hot, unable to turn down radiator. Hotel looking tired, needs a good clean and decoration. Food poor, limited choice for dinner and poorly managed breakfast. The building is old, rooms are very small, furniture and interior are obsolete and poor. Also it was cold, heating didn't work. Majority of the visitors are mature people. The annex is too outdated for words. Noise transfer between rooms was significant. Lack of TV/Wifi, distance to bathroom/toilet.
