Hotel Catania is a Victorian residence located on the seafront of the town of Scarborough. It was built in 1880 and overlooks the North Sea and Scarborough Castle. There is a large on-site car park offering free private parking. Rooms within the Catania are decorated using neutral colours and some offer sea views. Each room is equipped with flat-screen TV and an en suite bathroom. For special occasions rooms can include chocolates, flowers or wine on request. Guests can take advantage of the public areas, including a dining room and garden with seating area. Free Wi-Fi is available in the public areas and there is also a good selection of books, games and beach toys should guests desire them. The Blue Flag North Bay beach is a quarter of a mile from the hotel and the oriental themed Peasholm Park is only 5 minutes away on foot. Scarborough town centre is just half a mile away and Scarborough Rail Station is a mile from the hotel.

Jean and her husband are very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. we stayed there with my family very clean and tidy rooms are spacious. breakfast was outstanding and nothing was to much trouble we would recommend to anyone we are looking at booking for next year many thanks to all at the hotel catania. The location was superb. The rooms were very clean. The view over the bay was lovely. The breakfast was ok. The staff were friendly. We really liked the location of the hotel in scarborough as it was in the north shore area. A bit busy and Blackpoolish in the south shore area.

Would definately go back again. Really lovely time, the staff we're amazing, the rooms are very clean and homely. Breakfast was excellent, they even catered for our sons dairy intolerance. We be staying again and again. We had a great time on our break away from home, so relaxed and welcoming at the hotel, we felt comfortable and safe. we hope to do the same again at the Catania. We were very impressed with everything about the hotel,very welcoming,very clean and great location also brilliant value for money and the breakfast was great. Lovely friendly owners, breakfasts were very nice, perfectly situated and fantastic views of beach front and castle, enjoyed my stay there. very clean. friendly welcome and throughout stay.very good breakfast. close to beach and town centre. value for money.parking on site. staff friendly and efficient. could alter breakfast to whatever personal likes. nothing to much trouble. value for money.recommended. Was truly unsuitable for an eldery couple, i have difficulty climbing stairs bur there was no mention of stairs at all on the website. nothing all good. If going again which is a possibility I would book earlier and request a first floor room as loads of stairs to the top floor where our room was. The only problem we had was, both being disabled our room was on the 2nd floor. There was no question on the on line booking form,reguarding disability requirements. Nothing very enjoyable stay. Jean, We would have liked to stay longer! We will next time. Hard to find anything,would have liked softer whiter towels. The only down fall for me was having to climb the stairs to the forth floor to our room but in saying that the view from there was amazing. nothing. Nothing. there was nothing that we didn't like. The hotels position very small and pokey, rooms not to a very high standard, and the stairs, Too many stairs. No hot water after 10 in the morning. Not worth £180 it cost for 2 nights.
