I stay in a lot of hotels and you learn that the first thing to do is check everything works, if there is to be the slightest chance of anything being fixed before you leave. So when a light bulb blew I was delightfully surprised to find it instantly replaced without my even reporting it.

  staff where all great - I stay here quite often for this reason.   A first class welcome. This even included coming out to the car park to see that we had negotiated the electric gates OK. The owners made us feel like their own personal guests. The building is breathtaking and lovingly restored. The continental breakfast was the perfect detoxification and delightfully varied. We would not hesitate to re - The ambiance was true old world English. It is in the best location Painswick. I thought Painswick was the most charming town in the area. The Manor was beautiful. The owners were charming and took us under their wings. Te staff was friendly and efficient. We will be back. It is also close to train service.

Yes, there was a little bit of traffic noise and mild rowdy youths reclaiming their car at night BUT it was atmospheric to feel part of a community. I loved it and I am usually adverse to noise.   We found the staff to be extremely friendly and a credit to the hotel.the ambience was brilliant with a nice aspect with a grand view across the Cotswolds carry on the good work - You were not rushed for breakfast or to vacate the room. The views were excellent and the facilities at the hotel were great.
